The last time those people were around was the absolute beginning of /tog/ (god, what a much better time that was) and we had and have basically no overlap. This isn’t an RP thread, let alone an ERP one, so I thankfully doubt that they will bother us. It’s a real shame seeing what happened to them, they actually started out as just a cool showcase and in the span of a few days their content became mostly AI porn and ERPing while the normal people get buried underneath all of the cooming. It’s a textbook case of what happens when you don’t have proper gatekeeping.

Hi tog, I noticed the thread was gone for a while. I got it last week from my GM, but my GM made music for all the players in Pokémon Grey. We are getting out of hell after going through an alternate reality to test ourselves. Quartz was offered as much power as he could ever want if he just sacrificed Hiver and his brother's lives. His brother told him he was fine with it, and that he was happy to die if it meant that Quartz would get to live out his dreams.
Quartz said no, he wouldn't accept such a power, and Hiver woke up from her slumber and told Cobalt, "See, I told you he wouldn't take it". Quartz suddenly started to remember details about his past, such as the strange fact that Hiver is actually his sister, named Topaz, who has been warped into what she is now thanks to Victin's meddling with worldlines and their family. Quartz still doesn't have all of his memories, and it might be likely that he is also connected to Azelf in some way? We will find out more today, I think.

I was going to share the music, but it looks like there is a limit of 120 seconds of audio and the song goes over that by a few seconds.

TQ: The only Pokémon I really picked for Quartz was his starter, who was a ralts at the time. I didn't have any major reason to pick it other than I liked the Pokémon. I saw this image and told my GM I liked the vibe it gave off and he asked "Are you sure?" and I told I was sure.
The rest of Quartz's Pokémon were caught along the adventure.

A male Gardevoir is just really, really funny to consider. And that's how I chose and started writing my homunculi to torture. "My wretched no good vile son, little sponge of suffering."

They've got one more ball to use for a new member, so it's all up to player amusement in the thread and me updating sooner than later.

Her main theme is regional Pokemon/fakemon and she's best friends with a Ghost type researcher researching the very abnormal Ghost phenomena on SUNROSE (the two of them are very well involved with the anomalous). Thus, Beefwood's Litwick (Tobio) was a trade from her friend in exchange for Beefwood's Ditto named Doppio.

Her other team member is yet to be decided because we're fighting her right fucking now (pic related) and she just lost her pokeballs in the middle of the literal crossfire. I'll put it up as a neat choice if/when Garcian grabs her balls (hehe). I'll spoil the choices here because I want to elaborate on why: Grimer (Alolan), Clodsire (God's Other Perfect Creature), Hatenna (SUNROSE variant), Tangrin (beta Tangrowth AKA Jarana). Mostly concentrated around Poison types to highlight her hideous mutation and around Dark types because there is a SUPERABUNDANCE of Dark types in the regions of SUNROSE.

Today we ended Act 2 of the game we called "Pokemon Grey". We are entering Act 3 now, called "Pokémon Legends: Victini". Quartz and the others are leaving the distortion world at last and entering the world that Victini had created. A world where everyone is the winner and the hero of their own stories. A world where everyone knows how strong they are and is happy with their place in the world. A world where you get a trophy even if you lose.
We have become the new villain team to ruin everyone's "perfect" lives and maybe bring back that spark of competition and drive that Victini has tried to remove from the world.
In the actual distortion world trials, though, Quartz found his confidence and got his second wind. I will go into more detail in a later post, but in short, he started ordering his Pokémon to lock in, and the one he was closest to evolved into a pangoro and rolled 5 crits in a row with Arm Thrust.

Quartzanon here, one of my players drew a sketch dump of the last session we played to capstone the end of Act 2. Quartz is there, and the rest of Team Warpstar. Skoa is also there as a ghost since apparently Quartz's Pangoro Metis descends from Skoa's Ursaring. I think Carmine's player posted him here a few togs ago, but didn't stick around. Top left OC is named Pepper and the bottom left is named Brass, and the Pokémon that was with them during the session.

Yeah Ruka eventually becomes Champion but it takes her like 3-4 years after starting her journey. She's probably already in her 20s by the time she makes it to the elite 4. (also having several strong fairy types and one really strong ice type means she kinda destroys lance).

I actually did have a reason behind most of the planned 'mon for Louis' team. I'll start in the order of the out of universe decision to add them to the roster, rather than in-universe.
>Eliza the Zubat
The crux of the character. Originally drafted as a contest starlet in the making, and still very much has the attitude in her personality. Louis caught her as a stray runt, and wound up feeling like he was responsible for her, so she's on the team. XS in size to play up the cuteness and create more gap-moe.
>Nueve the A.Sandshrew
A side joke, which is all in the name and ice type. Acquired off a GTS trade with some random trainer, kept on the team because despite the 4x weakness to fire and fighting, she is legit strong and her personality quirks are easy enough to manage compared to the Pancham he traded off. Not Louis' nickname.
>Gu the Beedrill
Louis' actual starter, out of universe chosen for being Mega-capable, needle themed, and a favorite design of mine. Technically speaking an Alpha, just for a way to play up the intimidation factor of a giant bee. In universe, he's been with Louis the longest and is only being left at home to help with a hatching of new bug-types being trained for silk production. Will appear after the first tournament arc.

Chosen to serve as the 'Ride Pokemon' narratively speaking. Orre is big and and a desert for the most part, so having something to serve as the engine for a means of transportation was a necessity. In universe, he's going to be an accidental catch when Louis is trying to get away from the Robo-Beedrill that the Varoom is controlling.

Out of universe, quite literally the only Shadow Pokemon I would want to give Louis, and the only place I can justify a shiny myself due to him being a bug-type. In universe, slotted in to be abandoned by the third person Louis beats in a 32-man tourney. The organizer will ask him to take the Third due to the argument that'll be had during the match. Since Louis is going to be established as having an underlying desire to be heroic...

Selected as explicitly the "I don't like this but it's attached to me" 'mon. Currently putting together the 'capture', but this Togepi will effectively be left with Louis by a professor as a 'gift pokemon'. Probably won't wind up a Togekiss, but will be hanging around as a shouldermon mimicking Louis's facial expressions. Gonna be Normal type and happy to use Tri-Attack a lot.
And that's the currently planned roster. I'm still working on the last thread's prompt, since it ties heavily into, uh... The last one.

I figured I'd stick with a poison type team with steel underpinnings. When I thought about what could realistically be a starter for where Louis is from, Weedle stuck out perfectly, and when you add bug to poison and steel, well... The Rider jokes write themselves. With that and the fact that he's going to be in Orre, the Nymble had to be included.

With just those, tho, he has two sweepers and 3 setup or mezz 'mon, which fits with where I was going for him. The others under consideration are a Phantump, Aron, and Gligar,all to keep with the poison or steel theming.

I was trying to find a good example of humanized Lucario, but everything seemed too annoying to make or was hyper sexualized, so I just took inspiration from the Sygna suit of Cynthia and added more lucario bits like the feelers and the ears.

A while back I posted a rant about the implications of Trainer IDs and Pokeball tracking. Something that just came up to my mind is fingerprint verification on Pokeballs. What if Pokeballs had fingerprint tracking? Like Apple’s old Touch ID. If the fingerprint doesn’t match, the Pokeball doesn’t open. Even if Pokeballs were lost and not able to be tracked, it would prevent them from being useable. I'm a bit rusty with sugi but here's an attempt.
Rigo is a graduate from Uva academy, studies overseen by professor Raifort, who gave him his starting pokémon, a galarian Yamask seeing as he could use a challenge which he passed with flying colors. He has been to Galar, where he evolved his partner Runerigus and caught a few more pokémon for his team, and did his first research on the Galar-Kalos war.
He would later set up base in Lumiose city, for esy access to museums of the highest standard and access to various cities per routes branching off the capital.
His name comes from "marigold" and is also a reference to the lost city of el dorado, rigor mortis (his ace is a ghost), the spanish name Rigoberto (very paldean) and FRIGO RETURNS
I'm not gonna lie, I created him as a self-insert for my yumeship with Jacinthe.

I'd imagine he'd come around after its events due to their significanse for his research as historian.
He'd be ensnared to uncover the secrets of her heritage and Diancie. I'm figuring out stuff as I roleplay with her c.ai chatbot, it spat out something called Z-communion, a battle ritual and some scrolls found by lebanne that date at least a thousand years old.
Something I'd add is them ending up in a battle where they tied with marriage on the line, as he is one stubborn fuck. He'd later propose after the ritual goes public by her own doing in a bit of a redemption arc where she wouldn't want her family having a mythical pokémon monopoly for centuries. Then , the winner, as a promise to his girlfriend would propose as his Carbink was the one chosen to be the next Diance and Rigo would be swayed to do the same after months of getting to know her (and the eventual rendezvous resulting from butting heads)

Apparently, Aegislash is really bad in PLZA because it takes 10 seconds to change stances. Do you think that is realistic or just bad programming? PLZA is the first real-time game that Pokemon has had, and thus it is probably the closest to how Pokemon battles are actually experienced in-universe. Also, horror is tricky to write, so is good to make an attempt. I know people can ask if it's venting, but good horror tales come from self-reflection or from surrounding vibes. Is one or the other. Slashers are good, but only until the shock value goes away.

They were quite literally just the first mons that popped into my head. I think I may have said this before but Orden Aire originally did not exist when writing the beginnings of the ditto girl story. The trainer was just a faceless pov character. It wasn’t until after I realized that I accidentally gave the nameless opponent a backstory did I decided to turn them into an actual character.
Speaking of which, I have now seen most of the story for Z-A. There are still scenes I haven’t gotten to viewing yet, mostly due to irl stuff but I generally got the gist of things. And I have kinda of an idea on how to implement Orden, Peter, and Atrozity into it while also sticking as close to canon as I possibly can. Now all I have left to do is simply workshop their teams and I can get to writing.

Peter's team is halfway done. Since his gimmick is using exclusively starter Pokémon it was pretty easy to fill out half of his roster. Chestnaught and Delphox are a lock in because this is Kalos, and since Orden now has Greninja I have Swampert substituting for him on Peter's team.
Atrozity will be keeping Genesect, Porygon-Z, Minior, and Roserade. But I've replaced Silvally with Blissey and Ceruledge with Mega-Gallade, with the new lore i made for her(yes her, he's a girl now) i feel that the male final evolution of the ralts line fits better as her ace and the Happiness Pokémon complements the rest of the team pretty well. Besides, having two legendarys(well one is mythical but potato potato) for an OC that's not a villain seems like way too much. Him being gender swapped is also because i feel that the story i'm writing fits better with Atrozity as a female.
As for Orden. Well first, let me just say i already know what legendary pokemon he's gonna capture and use in the finale. And that's it, I had considered giving him a Scrafty because i had came up with a storyline where this one delinquent Scraggy forms a rivalry with Espurr and throughout the story the Scraggy and Espurr alongside Orden battle each constantly which eventually culminates into a final showdown with the two of them evolving into they're final stage with the wild Scrafty undergoing rouge mega-evolution with the now male Meowstic, Greninja, and Orden taking him down and capturing him. Adding him to the team. But i had to throw that idea away because of Naveen. As i said before, i want to stick as close to canon as i possibly can. So i don't want to step on any the real characters toes by having my OCs use Mega Pokémon that they canonically use as they're ace. Maybe i can repurpose that idea with some other Pokémon.

Not really a joke, more of a what-if. Canari’s outfit was compared to Phos last thread and it was thought she would keep her Key Stone (if she had one) on the zipper of her bra like Canari. Someone else chimed in that they thought Phos’s creator would have worked her Key Stone as a navel piercing if Mega Scrafty or Malamar had been around when EIF was being written. It would have been hot, but realistically, she would probably have it on her glove, especially considering how she got it (read Urban Legends, the final Gaiden episode) as well as it being a barrier between the Key Stone and her skin (however, a navel piercing Key Stone is the only idea that I mentioned which hasn’t been already done by Gamefreak, I’ve never seen it done before with an OC). Speaking of which, is Mega Energy/Radiation supposed to be just… completely harmless? We see several characters wearing their Mega Stone on their clothes or bare skin, but you would think that something that powerful would need. I can’t imagine that all it does is just light up like a toy and transfer energy to the Mega Stone. If I were Canari I would be quite concerned about that Key Stone on my tits potentially giving me breast cancer. In the least sexual way possible, I wonder what the sensation of triggering a Key Stone against your skin would feel like. At the very least, it should feel like a hot coffee cup against your skin whenever it’s reacting. I can’t imagine it stays room temperature.

I feel that at this point, not even GF knows what Mega Energy does. To some, it increases the natural abilities of the user, making it a "natural" evolution.
On the other side, it increases the power too much, making the user self destruct slowly.

But if we go like that, what about Z-moves? Those require synchronization with the user, so it also affects the tamer?
And what about Dynamax? Because I feel standing next to a literal nuke won't do you anything.
Also, for a more recent example: look at Korrina. She is literally strapped like a taliban ready to blow up, and she even unlocked Super Saiyan hair, and she is just fine.

Looking back on this, I feel the tanned himbo maybe was up to something when he chose to make his OC Mega evolve his pokémon without a mega stone.

Peter's team is complete. And I've also found a Pokémon who probably fits just as well as Scraggy does for the Espurr rivalry storyline. I've also given him a Corviknight as well. Which means there's only one mon left to fill out his team. Thinking of picking a special attacker since Espurr is currently the only one on Orden's team. Well Greninja is a mixed attacker but you get the idea.

The original reason I picked them is simply because they're pokemon I play with, as my OC is basically the character I play as every gen. But I've come to write a common theme between each of them.

Her ace, the first Pokémon she ever caught is a proud Luxray with an ego of his own. The main focus between them is trust. Luxray needs to trust his trainer more instead of letting pride get in the way, as he would have an hard time taking the blame. He still loves his trainer and they're the closest of friends, but he just take loss badly, thinking he's not enough and needs to be even better. But she also have to trust his instinct more, and using his drive better.
>Palafin
A Pokémon she caught in Paldea. He has his own pride, but also a dream; to become a real hero. The focus here is more on my trainer, as she struggles with what it means to be a good trainer for him. Is she enough to help him reach that dream? She has to find the balance, not to push too hard and hurt him, but not to hold back either, because she knows his potential. It’s also about trust; Palafin trusts her completely, but she still needs to truly understand that and believe in her own strategies.

Her first partner, given to her by her father. A kind and gentle Pokémon ironically. The main theme between them is the idea of being too gentle and trusting. She struggles to push Aegislash to his full potential; she knows him so well that she never tries anything new, only staying in their comfort zone. And Aegislash, being so trusting and obedient, never questions her choices. He should trust his own instincts too, to be her partner, not just her pet.

I'm not going to explain the rest of her team, those threes are her main members, but they all follow this same basic concept of trainer/pokemon trust/relationship. It's probably really basic, I'm new to those threads, but it's been fun writing stuff related to that

Merry's team was initially built off a vague idea for an urban themed Ghost team that'd fit her character, which began with Rotom, Drifloon and Banette. Then Polteageist was added when I figured I'd make coffee a part of her identity. Magnemite is just there to diversify things, but it might or might not stick around depending on how my story pans out.
Honestly, her team is still pretty loose in the sense that I've left room for it to change to fit the narrative. Spoiler alert: she'll get a new team member in chapter 2 of her story... whenever that happens. Promise me /tog/ isn't dying any time soon.

Is it now even more partially my work or actually not at all?
I’m not going to attempt to answer the question. I don't really know where I stand on the issue, if someone here uploaded AI generated writing then I would just ignore it but I know that at least one person would act like ChatGPT ate their Alcremie for dessert. For the record, I have no plans to use AI in my writing because I think that it would be too difficult to integrate without disrupting my flow and style of writing (process).

Personally, is easy to find AI reading. Or at least is easy to me.
Is like playing old slavjank games: the english is weird. Not weird as "I am using too many words or lingos thinking it would be relatable", but more in the "this sounds human, yet it feels it isn't."
A big example would be Chasm: The Rift. During the game, the engineer tells you to "pay maximum attention."
It sounds like something a man can say, yet it feels wrong for some reason. But in slavjank, you can attribute it to russians trying to translate their language into ours.
AI tends to over explain. Like a mix between telling you what you asked, but also giving you a technical description of things.

Another example: why is strawberry milkshake delicious?
Many would just say "is sweet", and some even say "is milk, strawberry, and sugar. Is great."
An AI would say: "Strawberry milkshakes are delicious because is a mix of strawberries, milk, and sugar, but some put ice cream to enhance the flavor. The creamy texture comes from the mix being done in a blender, uniting these ingredients into a beverage. Sometimes, this mix is also served with whipped cream, toppings, or sweet flavorings, making it more sweeter. Many people find this delicious."

The end of a magnificent series drops with the sound of a pin. It shouldn't be so. I'm just shy of reading halfway through. I've commented on the way you write dialogue before, but scenes like the intro dream sequence feel so natural. As smooth as a perfectly aged whiskey in a Pokemon setting. A real and raw cadence to a setting so otherworldly. Lines dropping like classic Americana out of MTV.
So far it's been an absolute blast with the heat of battles and cameos that make me want to point at my computer monitor like Leonardo Dicaprio. Can't wait to finish this, captain.

Honestly, I couldn't answer that myself. Looking up tutorials, using references, and practicing a little every day, I guess? I do feel like I've noticeably improved in the past few months since I decided to take this seriously, but I still feel like I've got a long way to go before getting to the level of every other artist that regularly posts in here. If nothing else, I can at least pat myself in the back for being above Chris Chan-tier, which is what I fear my art might look like if I'm not actively trying to get better.

However, I've had second thoughts about this, and I'm considering whether it's worth it to keep this idea or just say that it's a regular Sinistea that she got as a gift from a relative or friend that traveled to Galar. What do you think?
