I've hit a dry spell again unfortunately. I should probably take some time and do more battles for money and raising some of the evos I need to evolve I have repeats of.

So my uneducated understanding is a lot of spawns have multiple areas where they can spawn, like how the Skarmory in 17 isn’t always spawning in the same part of its flight path when you first see it but it still has some limit that says ‘Only use one of these spawns at a time.’ You’re tricking the game into upping the number of those spawns that can be used at the same time. Also Fennekin might have an issue where you need a 60 meter line of sight to the gate you drag it to, and roofs are going to make that hard. If you lose sight of it, it’ll despawn before you can set it up to spawn a second.

Well I moved Fennekin all the way down to the furthest gate. No extra spawn showed up. I can retry a few more times to see if it happens to work but probably doesn’t. Still funny how far you can move Pokémon

Set up:

>go up to the benches near pyroar and kill time until morning
>knock out pyroar and skarm
>fast travel back to 17 and get all Diggersby (Chespin is more annoying)
>lead them up the stairs once they get to the top run over to the east gate going out towards vert sector 6 and save
>reload lead the diggersby to the gate once they're all there exit the gate and save
>place marker walk away from the gate until it hits 60 save and reload (The diggersby fade out but that's fine)

Drop a pin at the gate. Save and restart. When you load in, run 60 meters down the street making sure you can still see the alpha. Save and restart. Run back, go inside where you can see the spawns under the tower. Save and restart. Then you can fast travel or bench to reset the area so you have an extra alpha.

Something good about actively hunting vs afk with a bench: If you save before respawning/despawning via distance, instead of needing to set up the glitch again after a shiny you don't want shows up, you can just reset since you will not have saved with that new shiny. With a bench, the autosave forces you to KO or catch the shiny and reset up the glitch to hunt that slot again.

I wonder if the game could handle it if you just keep increasing spawns through out the world. I checked to make sure and the 6 alphas are still there after spawning the additional holes. I guess I should go try to see if the holes in 8 can be increased. The other spots I was thinking of that should work are Eevee in 19 and Alpha Lopunny. I feel like a lot of the alphas are pretty static so Lupunny is the only one that's come to mind that I know and it has 4 spots so might be able to get an extra 3 in at once. If anons have other spawns that could be good post them. Also I'm wondering if it can work in the city. I know there are at least some hawluchas that move around when they spawn.

Fuck if I know. I was running in and out to get the final mon near the gate and spamming save/resets.
One of the times I load in a Drampa immediately aggros me. I go on thinking nothing of it but after I'm done with the mons in the zone and leave to drop a last save I notice that the Drampa was stuck outside. Killed myself after that and now I have 6 spawns under the tower.
If I were to guess it's because Drampa is so big and the spawn location was so close to the gate it decided to nudge it out instead of keeping it in when I reloaded.

I don’t even know how to really show this but here you can see 3 Gible with 4 Drilbur. I think there are ten holes but Pokémon are being despawn and new holes are appearing while trying to count them. Anyway not normal at all. I didn’t do anything here just some how the holes in 8 and 17 are connected and increasing one increased the other.

Thats not how probability works.
It rolls per pokemon. If you're encountering 2 pokemon at full odds, your odds are 2/8000, you multiply both sides of the equation.
You'll get shinies more often the more pokemon you're seeing of course, but knocking stuff out or leaving a shiny on the field isn't going to make your target show up any faster.
You're just gonna have less phases with much more time in between them. Just get the consolation shinies my guy.

You misunderstand the point I was making.
One pokemon spawning is 1/4000.
Two pokemon spawning is 2/8000.

And so on.
The point is that no matter how many pokemon you do or don't clear from the board, you odds for your target aren't changing, unless you're able to clear spawns to make room for more encounters of your target.

the game just does that. There is a shiny in the vicinity noise so it often plays twice. If you're on the ground the abra would not spawn on the roof so it was either there from earlier or happened to be shiny when you climbed up

I started to hunt this for halloween and was doing it while I hunted on PLZA too
it only took 1512 SRs (well, actually it took 3962 SRs since I started this hunt like years ago but I stopped shiny hunting for a very long time)

I don't think Fennekin spawns can be duped. I've gotten it to the point where the alpha and the seemingly-duped slot are each visible, but it breaks on final reload. The spawn area might indeed just be one fixed point rather than range-based.
Gonna try to see if a second Big Fenny occupying the second slot will make a difference (something something non-skittish) but all hope might be lost.

I don't have a list but if you knock it out and see where it respawns it's basically the four corners of it's little square. In particular the lower right corner near the gate going out to Quasartico inc is 54 meters from the closest bench. Ultimately it's hard to test in game if it's impacting it or not so that's why I'm not sure.

Was going to bed but just had a thought… since the game saves shinies until you catch them you could potentially move them around and leave them anywhere without the game removing them once spawns are reset… Maybe could make Zone 1 just a hell hole for 10 shiny alpha Lopunny. I probably get the charm tomorrow since I’m only 190 battles away once I get another shiny Lopunny I’ll have to try and see if it stays anywhere I bring it
