It takes ~15-20 minutes to get the stone (I think you get it at Rank K). You don't need to get the highest tier. The battles are simple, you will progress through ranks even if you finish 3/4. It's basically just 5 matches of not losing. You and your opponents Pokemon will be set to level 50.

If you only want the mega stones the greninjaite will be available next season at a lower rank and they lowered the requirement for the delphox stone so next season will be way easier

The key characters of the game are definitely getting updated teams for their reward matches after you beat the DLC, and I feel like theorising their upgraded teams already, for example Gwynn’s team has:

Its not very important compared ro the overall move cooldown.
If you load up on high bp moves, your speed wont make a noticable difference. But it can be quite strong if all your moves hover in the 60-90 range.
Training speed probably doesnt matter.

My meganium has reached level 100

I still haven't collected all of the colorful screws

I feel overwhelmed there's still so much to do, and I'm still trying to balance this between Sonic Crossworlds and Xenoverse 2, there's a new festival of universe going on and ichiban is due out this week as well as in this game another online tournament is staring for Delphox' mega stone, I don't remember the date, I don't remember what rank I have to reach to get it
I've found 2 shiny pokemon thus far, Dratini now a Dragonite and a valued member of my team and Espurr who I'll train up since it's going to get a mega going by the leaked list

wild zone 20. If you kill the fodder and do the trick to triple the centre spawn points for alphas, you can just run, fast travel or use a bench a few dozen times to respawn them and quickly build up some shinies.

I thought everyone was saying the postgame in this game is way better than Arceus but it seems to be mostly the same: legendary hunt (smaller in this game since there's less legends), battle facility and complete pokedex/research as well as any remaining sidequests

I got to Rank K and got the Greninja Stone like 3/4 of the way through the story, but you should be fine to muddle through by the time your Pokémon are level 50+. Most lower ranks are filled with people in the same situation who have no idea what they're doing. It doesn't get really sweaty until maybe Rank B.

My team was Feraligator, Excadrill and Talonflame, neither was fully EV trained or Alpha or anything special.

Has anyone found Volcanion at all? I can see it has dex entries and data in the game, is it maybe like the SV Meloetta and we just haven't figured it out yet? I only need it and Zeraora for my special Magearna and it is driving me crazy.

Swords Dance + Ice Punch with my Greninja that has a neutral atk nature was able to one shot a bunch of them and carry me. That was a lot of work for 3 sport balls but it was fun.

After getting Floette, train up a mon that can end battles in a jif and has a priority move (most popular is Dragonite with Max HP/Atk and Extreme Speed holding a Normal Gem, which procs for the sneak attack before the fight and then refreshes for the actual battle) and then reset for the Battle Zone in Jaune District that lies right below the rightmost Pokecenter near the walls of the city. If you follow a cycle that loops around the zone you can rack up 60-70 battles per night easily (you should probably look up a guide vid for this part because it's hard to explain without visual aid). I had 500 battles or so done by the time I'd cleared out every other Research Task, found this method out soon after, and then did the rest gradually in a period of 3 days playing on and off meaning you can probably get this shit done in 1 if you're really grinding it.

Finished the main story with my team all around level 75 and now with the postgame I feel like I'm way too overleveled as everyone is around 60-70. Didn't level the exp Canari amulet because of that reason but I did all the secondary missions. It means that you can shiny hunt and even if you make a mistake and they despawn (without knocking them out), you can go back and they'll be there. Shinies even have a significantly boosted catch chance.

Form changing having an animation is a problem on a single Pokemon and the reason switching in has an animation is because it'd otherwise be free i-frames you can use to immediately counterattack while the opponent's still in their own attack animation. It was a conscious balancing choice, as shown by the fact that NPC trainers will not attack your Pokemon during this animation if you send them out after the previous one faints.

Because otherwise you'd be able to run away while stacking stat boosts and other modifiers like screens.

This is another balancing thing done to prevent long-ranged attackers from just unloading their entire moveset in a cycle. If the opponent's moving the place they'll have to go to ready their attack will also be moving, meaning they can't just rapid-fire each one.

Trying to get all my guys up to level 100. There is a low level lady in the city who, as a mission, you have to actually send out Mega Camrupt in a fight with her. If you fight her but never sent out the Camerupt, she wants to fight you again. I have a Mega Camerupt in my party, but I don't use it just to let her start the match, then I set up a controller macro to fight her over and over. Free level 100's (and money) while I sleep.

Not the anon you're replying to, and I fully understand why switching has a 'penalty', but... huh? I suppose it's true that they don't immediately start brutalising you when a new Pokemon model shows on the screen and there's a slight delay before either side can take an action, but an NPC trainer absolutely has a time advantage over the player in the next matchup if they managed to KO one of your Pokemon and you send in the next one. They're already using a move by the time the player is allowed to lock on and press a face button to attack. It makes battles quite swingy and momentum heavy if you don't have a strong enough team to never get KO'd. No idea how it works in PvP since I haven't touched that yet.

This is true, but it's explicitly because YOU have to spend time locking on whereas they can just immediately throw out their next move, not because of the roaring animation the Pokemon does. This is a different problem entirely divorced from the animation and would still be an issue if it wasn't there.
