Is Pokemon about the save the world story in nearly every game, or is Pokemon about the rapid battles you can always find anywhere in the Pokemon world? I have a radical solution in mind which is doing away with exp and levels entirely. They could operate on a rank up system instead, and you rank up on getting a badge, so the devs know at any time what rank/power level you should be and can design enemy trainers and encounters accordingly. Also, I'd like to just rebalance the game around full healing after every encounter. A lot of pokemon battles are designed to wear you down over the course of a route, take some pp and deal some chip damage, so by the end of the route even though each fight was easy the entire trip was difficult. Instead, if every battle started at full hp, each fight could be hard enough to threaten sweeping you, where without full healing a full route of battles that can sweep you is asking a bit too much.

For me it's neither I guess for me thd msin appeal is just existing in a pojemon world for a little while, and doing lots of things in the game, and the story and battling are just 1 part of it.

I like what SV did, where you can fight all thr trainers and be a bit overleveled, ignore many trainers snd not be so high level, or defeat a casual amount and be about the same level as an opponent. That was a comfy way to handle exp

Thanks! I've considered pink quite a bit, but it's hard to match with the colors I'm currently wearing so I'd probably need to come up with a new outfit entirely if I wanted to use it. I'd say that Pokemon is more about having an adventure while growing more appreciative of the Pokemon you pick up along the way, whether they are newcomers or those that already were there but you possibly never gave a shot because of wanting to stick with some tried and true favorites/comrades. As for leveling, I'd say speed it up like the Canari Red plush did but make it optional to share amongst the whole party like how X&Y and onwards did it until the Let's Go series did away with the option to choose. People that want to go the long training route or train through the Pokemon actually having to appear in the battles can just turn it off so there would be potentially less bitching about easy leveling.

TQ: Depends on what you want your experience to be. That being said the games have always been more save the world focused and has combat just as a means to an end. I just wish it had more to do than just combat centric stuff like the contests and pokeathalon stuff, but more fleshed out in the game to give other pokemon a more fair usability when their combat skills are outclassed by others.
The way you can fix exp and also the issue of having so many mons is to get rid of stats all together and rework it to something like DnD where you can assign stats as well as learned abilities to make your pokemon the way you wish it to be so they can all have a decent chance at viability while still having level up milestones.
