Game is more floaty than THPS2. Creates issues with the level geometry (especially when you have maxed stats) and just feels off compared to the original game.

>score 5,000 points in warehouse
>w/thps2 controls
What were they thinking not even redesigning the goals in mind? Such a rushed game. But it is a neat game for what it is.

>issues with the level geometry (especially when you have maxed stats)
>It could feel off compared to the original game.
YOU RECEIVE:
>The BEST and DEFINITIVE version EVER of ONE of the GREATEST games developed for the fifth generation
>All 19 levels from the original Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2
>5 exclusive brand new levels

I was there, and this version was a godsend, man, it was the best deal ever. I was 12 years old when I got my OG Xbox for xmas, along with Project Gotham Racing and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2X. I had THPS2 for PSX, but you can’t even imagine how HUGE the jump was. It was surreal. You had to be there to truly get it.

They thought you will have some skill and time to get better

>the BEST and DEFINITIVE version EVER
it's not definitive because of the issues with handling, makes it worse to play overall
>all 19 levels and 5 new levels
doesn't matter, it's half-assed because they arent as good to play on as the originals, the new levels arent designed around the floatiness either
>rock solid 60 fps
the point of 60 fps is that games feel responsive, the game feels less responsive because of that floatiness and you can play thps in 60 fps anyways
>you had to be there
Your family being poor when you were 12 years old doesn't make the version you got any better

Not him but
>Got a near launch xbox with games for Christmas
>Poor Family
Come on OP, that was average family income at worst. You just seem annoyed he had fun with it.

The Dreamcast version feels worse. THPS2X is nice.

That's sort of the thing with the THPS games, THPS2X is gonna feel weird next to both of the first games on PS1, then you play Dreamcast and that will feel weird in its own right with the smoothed graphics and different controller. It's not a stretch to say, "Your first exposure to the game will be your favorite." Fundamentally the Xbox 360 port of American Wasteland is better on basically every front, but I played the PS2 version, so 360 never seems or feels natural, and the sheer number of people who feel put off by the remakes because they don't feel "right" (notably heavier for example) says volumes.
At least it ain't Robomodo.

Huh? I'm saying the goals are way too easy and the THPS1 career comes AFTER the THPS2 career for some reason.

Reminds me of how people defend SM64DS despite how shit the controls are. Basically, you just had to be there.
I've never actually played this version of Tony Hawk 2, I just think it's an interesting comparison.

Try 2X some time. If you like pre-3 thps it's a good time. Plus the grass is the best looking grass of the entire generation.

I hated it because Microsoft was buying ports with exclusive shit added.

You are lucky because by now they have recreated 1+2 in like 25 games.

Because gamers still have the retarded mindset of more content=better game. Look at all the idiots who still praise the PS2 port of RE4 or the Saturn port of SotN. I doubt half of them actually put time into those and just assume because it has more stuff it's the definitive version regardless of quality.

Hey, it'd be fine if they carried over the physics of THPS2 instead of trying to rewrite them.
