The international soundtrack mogs the original so much it's not even funny.

I'm playing GT4, grinding a Skyline.
My friend told me for GT games, manual doesn't matter and that I should do automatic, that true?
The epic opening cutscene with the operatic choirs is so fucking funny but awesome at the same time, and then Panama by Van Halen is a real good pick. I also saw the european or JP one where it's electronic music and it's also cool.

Imo it's the other way around.

Automatic is boring, manual is way more fun.

You can gold all the license tests with automatic. I only use manual with an actual wheel and shifter/paddles.

Agree. I can't fathom how can anyone use automatic in racing games and have the same fun as with the manual transmission. I mean, auto is fine for mascot kart racing games where you have to use powerups and weapons and stuff but regular racing games are much better with manual. Auto is just press x to win dumbing down.

Ackchyually, automatic requires you to take better lines and brake more precisely to compensate for the CPU not always putting you in the optimal gear on time. It often makes the game more difficult.

i've trained to drive a stick IRL for >10000 kms, but i still can't change gear as fast as an automatic. of cose, there's "tricks" like clutch braking, but you can't do that in a GT1 game. and i can't really pull it off smoothly IRL or in a game that can support it anyway.

auto is fine. play a stick if you really want a "simulator" experience. but nicer if you can actually play it with some driving game controllers(wheel, gearstick, pedals) instead of a standard gamepad.

Agreed. 'As Heaven is Wide' is a certified classic, and the intro remix by the Chemical Brothers is pure unadulterated hype.

GT2's international soundtrack, however...

The intro song and menus are good. But god, the actual race music is torture. PAL version's a little less bad than US', but still bad.
