>>11793694 (OP)>Can remakes surpass originals? No and I wish people would stop doing remakes of both movies and games. For nearly 100 years we as a species have been stick on a loop remaking stuff like the wizzard of OZ, the fouur feathers, the 29 steps etc etc and now resident evil, silent hill etc. They remade psycho. All this shit is due to a quirk in US copyright law that means you can effectvely extend copyright forever as long as you keep making shitty remakes. If it makes some money as a side effect that's probably a benifit plus the marketing is easy as they is already a fanbase. Its fucking garbage though. I OWN all the fucking ORIGINALS. I am not buying your fucking remakes of shit that I own. I own afred hitchocks psycho, I am not buying the remake by gus van sant. Graphics improvements have been so marginal in the last decade that's it's irrelevent that maybe they look better (often that's very debatable), what made space invaders great was the gameplay, the graphics are icons. No one fucking remembers the taito remakes of space invaders, they just remember space invaders,
Remakes=mediocrity and are a symptom of copyright law and risk adversity, stagnation and lack of talent.
>>11793729>I mean you can probably remake an extremely shitty NES game and make something betterfixed that for you
