Talking mostly for the main experience today,

Minus its exclusive Ubi Soft logo at the start, rain drops on screen(as-seen in the GCN port), giant eye-flower thingies's shiverings in the arena of the final battle, and a few seconds part at the end of the last FMV all missing,

slightly more compressed and less fancy 5.1 audio, more simple or missing shadows and slightly longer loadings,

it's actually, still, the original native version of it on PS2, if played on original hardware, by far.

All other versions(ports), amidst the generic enhancements like better textures and audios here and there, actually butcher the game's intended art style, tons of unique PS2 visual effects, lightings, adds plenty of lil glitches of all sorts here and here, get the wrong textures in a lot of places, have lower-quality FMVs(no joke), missing controller options and have broken or no 16:9, 60hz, progressive options, to name only those.

GameCube version is actually based on a slightly earlier build aswell even(thanks to Nintendo wanting the game for themselves and the team just deciding to release the game on here much before than planned), and it has a few odder, unfinished choices here and there(like most notably The Heart of the World in purple - actually just a bizarre GameCube reference all along, perhaps? - and the lava rising in the Horrible Machine's room after you beat it, which could kill you even once reaching the completion screen)
(̶T̶h̶i̶s̶ ̶i̶s̶ ̶o̶n̶e̶ ̶f̶o̶r̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶p̶R̶e̶d̶d̶i̶t̶o̶r̶s̶-̶)̶You also have the possibility on PS2 to play it with alternate fake PS1 visuals, if you start a game with the name "PSONE" !
(but not reversed visuals, aswell, like on PC, though, to our knowledge...You didn't knew 'bout that, too, didn't you?)
TL;DR: PS2, and go fucking beg too for a good remaster of it rn on Switch 2 at least(the game's animations were even fucking made in +144FPS, at least. Like. no better time, man.)
