The original RE4 is one of the worst controlling and clunkiest pieces of shit to ever be released in terms of both how it controls with a controller and a mouse and keyboard. It is genuinely probably the only shooter (third or first) that controls worse with a mouse and keyboard than a controller. The remake of 4 turned it into one of the best action games ever made, and it completely negates and nullifies the original in every measure. Pic not related. Webm not related.

If anything RE is an example of one of the most succesful "evolutions" of a franchise ever. They changed the gameplay significantly but it's practically as good if not better than it was before. When you compare that with other series, RE is a way more succesful series than practically all others
