Is there a reason that nobody ever talks about Tails Adventure, even with the internet's Metroidvania and Sonic obsession? It's genuinely one of the best Game Gear titles around.

my fav 8-bit sonic as a kid, all the way back to adventure dx on pc. finally beat it years later on my phone

Which is a shame, because it was a great game, and still holds up well if you can tolerate the screencrunch. Its a charming game with a lot to explore instead of just going fast, its more of a metroidvania. It wasn't perfect, but I feel like a lot of people would enjoy it if they could get past shit like QoL issues for a fucking game gear game.

Honestly, one of the biggest things that filters people is item management, since you need to go back to the house to change equipment slots. As long as you can deal with that and can enjoy looking for secret items and routes/exits, its quite fun. The sea fox even gets some cool weapons like the ability to just fucking electrocute everything nearby because water.

Then, there's how differently the game plays from a regular Sonic game, which I imagine would filter people.
These days, it's mostly known for the Battle Kukku Army (who showed in Archie) and the "Tails is a shell-shocked veteran/mass murderer" jokes and fanfics.

I'd say they get talked about on /vr/ pretty often considering they were mostly spinoffs, they were good titles for the most part.
