This game was actually pretty awesome. The whole job system and mixing jobs is super fun. And there’s so many little secrets, optional dungeons, and collectibles for each job. It’s pretty much pure game play. The story was… well I didn’t hate it.

What jobs did you guys use? Did you like it?

I loved the game but I couldn't beat gilgamesh and exdeath in the last cave/dungeon of the game. But overall pretty good game.

We all liked it. Ofc ninja is the favorite because multiple attacks are always kino
Chemist added a fun little twist. Blue magic run is always kino

Don't care for the advance new classes or content and yes I did play it

I really like the system of gear that boost your elemental damage when you equip them. They only brought it back for IX and XII. Makes you actually consider what you're equipping beyond just number go up.

Ya the last dungeon is a crazy gauntlet. Summoner Phoenix is OP and I had a ton of elixirs. I’m pretty curious about what job combination are viable for completing it without having to grind too much.

Ninja dual wielding is awesome. Something about having two Beserker axes or Samurai Katanas is so awesome.

Ya that’s pretty fun. You actually have to change out your gear depending on what dungeon you’re in and what monsters you’re fighting. Hitting your own team with the healing staff is kind of OP too haha.

It's moving up in my favorites list. I'm not done with the game. Stuck on a fight against a bunch of bombs that can resurrect themselves.
The job system is really neat, but I like it more because the game feels packed with boss fights and weird ones at that. Bosses feel more like puzzles than exclusively damage races.

gilgamesh literally stops fighting you after a few turns in the final dungeon and leaves on his own. I'm not even sure he attacks you enough times to KO all four party members if you're somehow weak enough to die to one hit AND you choose to do nothing.

I've beaten every FF up to 7 so far and 5 is the one I remember the least about, despite the party building being so fun.
I was never able to memorize the world map after it got combined, it never felt like "home", forgot where the fuck anything was while I was playing.
I appreciate it being the game with more girls than guys in your party.

The original JP game didn't have a default name for him at all, the most popular english translation added it for reasons unknown.
The manual screenshots just call him "SQUARE"

Ok I bothered to look up a bit more.
Turns out the ONLY source of the name Bartz/Butz/Battsu was a screenshot on the back of the box. Some people took it to be his name.
The PSX version began using the name in the manual, but it didn't become his default name until the GBA version. It's likely that it wasn't Square's initial intention when they released the game but eventually rolled with it.
