I mean, ALttP's backstory was about everybody in Hyrule slaughtering each other hoping to find the Triforce until Ganondorf found it by accident and murdered all his own men so he could keep it for himself. Much better origin for Ganon than just him tricking a dumb kid into opening the door for him.
