Japanese have this weird fascination with their younger years, so anything over 30 is ancient.

And I mean, if you look at 30 year olds from 1970 (when most of those guys were born), you'd thing those guys were 60.

because a Japanese man becomes a robot worker after graduation, they know the really old Japanese men are not physically able to do heroic things.

the weird part is that Japan seems against the idea of the older party members being mages or sages or something like that, which is commonplace in the West.
