>>11806964>isn't this game really overratedNo, it's actually a great game. One of the best looking 3d on the system, with full 3d movement on both land and while flying in the air. Gameplay is a bit unique in that you can -select- what you want to look at with a targeting cursor, and battles are centered around being able to fly around enemies to take advantage of weak points, or dodge enemy attacks (moving, basic attack and item usage is 1 turn, magic is 2 turns, special moves are 3 turns, enemies can also move or charge specials etc). You can morph your dragon on a XY axis to give it different strengths/weaknesses, like bump speed up to 200% at the cost of defense being 0, or do the same with attack power versus magic power.
It also has a HUGE in-game encyclopedia so you have shit ton of lore to read if you like.
The best part is that the game is paced in a way that you basically never need to grind at any point, even if you go for the secret/hidden enemies. You can sit back and enjoy the game. The biggest challenge is trying to get max rank on enemy fights (the bestiary logs your best battle result for each enemy).
Ending is also a huge mindfuck. The protagonist dies at the beginning, the power that reanimates him, the divine will that characters worship all throughout the game for controlling their destiny, is YOU, THE PLAYER.
