If you somehow found this as a Western kid during the time of release, it'd be a pretty interesting thing of shit that's foreign to you. But if you played it after seeing the show in the 00s, it would just be a blahzay shounen game with familiar characters
Not the Mega Drive game, but the SNES one (Yuu Yuu Hakusho FINAL). I remember playing that back in 1995 and every kid on my street thought it was a Saint Seiya game, because Yusuke had clothes that looked like Seiya's (jeans and red shirt) and Majin Yusuke was Shiryu (because of the long hair and being shirtless).
We also called Gundam Wing Endless Duel "that Shurato game", because we had no idea what a mecha anime was. Shurato was the closest we've ever seen to that idea.
Remember, back in 1995.
>>11807459 (OP)damn impressive game and plays great
but the lack of an actual arcade mode is terrible. especially for an anime game
I watched the entirety of this show last year and I'd never have assumed americans had this on TV in the 00's. Usually it's the contrary and they discovered an anime long after me. So, you can have this one americans, I'll keep all the others.
Anyway this game was not released outside of Japan except apparently for Brazil so the likelyhood of stumbling upon is would be pretty fucking low

Why did Togashi allow this
>>11808178huh, anime in the US had like three major phases
>pre 90s>its around....here and there, astro boy, speed racer, robotech etc, never super popular but scattered around the decades>early- mid 90s>sailor moon and dbz have some traction with kids, though still very secondary to popularity of western kids shows>ova market expands, lots of the "adult" shit and shlocky hyper violence shit finds an audience with adult outcasts>late 90s - 00s>pokemon comes out, toonami airs all kinds of shit like dbz, ruroni kenshin, outlaw star, tenchi muyo, multiple gundam series, etc>basic cable networks are flooded with b tier shounen like yu gi oh, digimon, monster rancher, bakugan, ultimate muscle, fighting foodons, etc all capitalizing off pokemons success>adult swim features tons of random crap from shit like cowboy bebop, trigun, big o, to shit like saint seya, android kikaider, fooly cooly, pilot candidate, lupin the third, etcthat was basically, THE era of anime exposure in the US. it's died down since but that also has to do with cable going away largely and zoomers not being as dependent on actual media with a lot of them watching youtube/tiktok exclusively

>>11808185Why did my brother get me this for Christmas 2003 instead of Superstar Saga? He knew licensed shit is always bad.
