How is King's Field compared to Ultima Underworld? Does it have good dungeons and systems?

These games are 30 million years old and you can see entire playthroughs on youtube.

it's a hell of a lot less complex than underworld, but it think that works to its benefit. you're not doing quests or really interacting with npcs aside from the shopkeepers.. you're just enjoying the ambience and killing mobs. honestly i like king's field a lot better. I've beaten it three times in the last year but have yet to make it to the second floor in underworld.

pretty straight ahead and consolized. systems and dungeons are pretty mediocre but it's good low engagement gaming

I wouldn't really compare it to ultima underworld, but they're pretty good games even now if you can stomach the speed. Kf1 japan is pretty short and you'll figure out if you're interested or not.

they arent comparible at all. kings field relies much more on finding secrets and memorizing death traps, with a satisfying power creep. neat surprises here and there to make it feel much more like an actual adventure game with a sense of mystery than a hardcore rpg for dnd nerds like ultima

They're not good games. UU1 is a good game. That's the main difference
