I don't think any of these cars would pass roadworthy inspections today. The traction feels like you're sailing. Is that just how cars were in 2002?

The handling is easy to get used to. The real devil is the damage penalty mechanic which conflict with how the game pretty much demands dirty racing to stay ahead.

I was stuck in the "broken car is too slow to win money to fix car" death spiral for several in-game weeks until I finally managed to break it. Interesting game mechanic which insensifies swapping cars, but it can totally fuck you in early game.
