Has there ever been a time when the Nintendo brand was associated with the jock type who gets to bang all the hot bitches?

Nintendo never really went after that market for some reason.

Well everyone played NES and Game Boy in America. But there was never an association with "cool jocks" at any point really. I personally grew up in the GameCube era and it felt like no one gave a FUCK about Nintendo at all until the Wii, and even then the Xbox 360 was the popular console.

The only consoles which have had that stereotype were the XBOX and XBOX360. And that wasn't necessarily seen as a positive, it was more that the XBOX was the normalfag sportsgamer console, for fratboy Madden-gamer types who'd play licensed sports games (and later on, bland FPS like COD). One thing I don't think zoomers realize is how the original XBOX was often seen as the normalfag sportsgamer console when it first came out.

Late SNES era (1994-1996) is the closest they ever got to appealing to that demographic I think.

Super Smashed Bros was a big thing depending on where you went to college, usually accompanied by Mario Kart

That period, it was like a relaunch of the snes but those new color shells for the gameboy were popular with most people including the jock crowd. It was just a cool thing to carry around and look at, I think it faded when it was clear that ps1 was more popular than n64.

N64 era and it's not up for debate. Every culdesac kid and college dudebro had an N64 with goldeneye and smash at bare minimum.

GameCube early on tried to compete as a more "hip gamer" platform, but Wind Waker being labeled kiddy pretty much killed that vibe.

I remember the hate towards that game when the first images came out. It was universally loathed at least in the west.
