Ah the campgrounds. It's Summer already. I never see Psychonauts get brought up as a Summer game, but it fits.

This was on sale on the PS store for a couple bucks last week and I got it but couldn't bring myself to play it for long since it's basically the PS2 version as-in but on widescreen. The visuals are awful compared to the PC and XBox versions (choppier FPS, no normal mapping etc)

Great game with a lot of personality, though the gameplay smorgasboard approach it uses was never my cup of tea.

Anyway, it absolutely fits the Summer theme. The detailed Summer Camp-themed level hub is probably the most memorable thing about the game.

And it's not even optimized for that. In some cutscenes the characters pop into existence because they spawn in a region of the screen that the intended aspect ratio crops off.

I don't really want to be a comparison guy, the Xbox version is wonderful and obviously the console version to get. There's MSAA, the game runs well (but still gets a bit choppy at some angles, no big deal) the textures look great and the draw distance is great too. I'm just never gonna love the black and white buttons. Sorry Bill.
