It's a great game but it killed the franchise and turned it into actionslop. You can't refute this

Correct. They could never make another actionslop game that good again. Even the remake is a huge downgrade, while adding all the worse elements of modern gaming to it.
Somebody just make a randomizer or level editor for the original and just be done with it.
