I like MK4's Reptile because he looks so weird yet cool. MKDA's Reptile was an odd experiment that they improved upon in future games. In fact, his MKSM version already looks pretty good. I can see why they brought him back for MKA.

Thats actually you for being so especific about the design.
I see a reptile there which fits for the reptilian race character.

Tbh, I actually kind of like 4's design. It feels like a natural evolution of the character to help better distinguish him from Scorpion and Sub-Zero. Deadly Alliance's design is also kind of fun, but feels like they pushed the visual envelope just for the sake of it

Shaolin Monks' take on Reptile is a happy medium though

Reptile has an odd place in the story side of things. He obviously he was a palet swap of Scorp/Sub, but canon wise they're both from Earth and "ninjas", Reptile is a ninja in the sense that he's a clone of them, but story wise he's not, he's not even from Earth, or even Outworld, he's just some other dimensional creature who ended up lackying for Shang/Shao
