Did it have any good exclusives or best ports of some games?

The original Mac version of The King of Chicago had a very unusual artstyle which was replaced entirely in later ports.

The Mac version of Epyx Rogue is entirely mouse driven and very stylish. The port of Arkanoid is also excellent, though obviously lacking in color, the mouse control is great and the sound effects are sampled.

Mac had the best versions of quite a few games. While the library is cluttered with an almost infinite amount of garbage, there's also a nearly infinite amount of great stuff in there too. Ultima III's best port by far is on the Mac. Pretty sure DOOM on the Macs of the day allowed a bigger viewport than most PCs without getting slow too but I might be hallucinating on that one.

Bolo, Robosport, Spaceward Ho!, those are three must plays on the platform. Marathon too of course, especially if you're a HALO fan and even though they abandoned the early Marathon lore eventually. Myth II is great. Some good flight sims too. Chuck Yeager's Air Combat on the Mac is awesome.

Mac Doom is good but not great and is pretty demanding spec wise, Mac Wolfenstein however is a unique port and pretty cool. New sprites and shit

This post reminded me of all the fun times on the Macintosh LC III even with a Genesis and NES in the house.

Appletalk wasn't fast, but it came with every Macintosh, and what kind of files were you working with back then that made it a big factor?

i am extremely familiar with compulsive lying apple fans that like to rewrite history decades after the fact and truly believe everyone is a single digit iq fucking retard such as yourself that would believe your insane lies about how macs had any version of a game better than an other system. what other schizo lies do you have to share?

a lot of these macs were sold in educational settings more than anywhere else, and hard disks were fucking expensive. was easier (and cheaper) to setup an appletalk network and shove a mac server in a cupboard with a large hard disk. i would never buy one of these pieces of shit for the home. worst computer i've ever seen. it has a cpu that's spending over 50% of its time drawing the fucking screen. lmao.

>and what kind of files were you working with back then that made it a big factor?
at the time it was programming applications and school work. we had something like 5mb for data per student and then we were forced to backup shit to disk. all of the software and our files were hosted on the network. without the disk, you can't access your account, your files or run any applications over the network. mac was just a dumb terminal. i do miss it. it was kinda cool at the time.
