Really enjoying this game, it reminds me of my favourite games Silent Assassin and City of Lost Heaven. The game design is also quite excellent. Only wish there were more close combat situations, more grenades (they are so damn fun to use in this game) and more tactically aggressive enemies/pursuits. Never really played nor had any interest in sniper games before, so I'm wondering what else is out there in similar vein

I prefer the PS2 version for the split screen coop through the campaign.

I wonder if it's better or worse than the modern "Sniper Elite" series? What's the big one today? Is it the same company as this game or an entire other series?

I played Far Cry 1 on PC for the first time recently and absolutely loved sniping stuff in it. People complain about some AI bug making enemies "shoot at you while hidden from across the map" or something like that but I never had any issues like that. I was sniping my way across these massive level maps and it felt so damn fun. I also downloaded it from a repack that came pre-installed every possible bug fix and user made patch possible for the game (these are a godsend for older PC games)

Also Rainbow 6 Vegas 1/2. Sniping in those games is kino.

I played these last year and don't remember sniping sequences there. My prefered playstyle was with a shield and pistol, with smoke grenades and heat vision. Makes you feel like a predator robocop.

the AI is pretty good at flanking and ambushing the player, defo one of the better AIs out there. it also has that mouse wheel adjusted character speed like PC splinter cell, which is objectively better than controller sticks btw
