>>11815407 (OP)Naughty Dog was never this amazing company so many made them out to be. The Crash games were great of course but ND never owned the franchise. Also the first Crash could have been a lot better if it had proper analog stick movement. Also seen it said a lot now about the hit detection in these games all being off. Not sure myself would have to go back. I at least remember the PS1 era of Crash being good times though. So ND deserves credit for at least being good back then. But were they the best company ever at that time? No way far from it. They were just the Crash guys which is okay.
So during the PS2 to me they became the Jak and Daxter guys. Crash declined in popularity and I wasn't sure why nor cared to truly find out. Only later did I discover well it never belonged to ND. I guess I found it rather sad Crash wasn't owned by Sony? But I didn't care much. I was into other games. So anyways going back to Jak, I liked these games. I liked them even more than the Crash games. They were solid platformers and had just the right amount of edge for most PS2 fans of the day who likely were coming of age just as I was back in the day. So in retrospect no this didn't kill ND to me it made them even better. Solid games, but again the best in that era? Nope far from it.
So then that brings us to what we now know as modern ND (PS3-PS5) era. Somehow people see ND as this legendary company that I just never saw them as. I never cared to even play Uncharted or TLOU. I did play a tiny amount of Uncharted 2 but nothing about that game truly impressed me to the point that I had to buy and play it now. I will never understand why this company got so hyped up. It seems to me only because its one of Sony's more prolific studios. Besides that there really shouldn't be any real reason they have their reputation. TLOU admittedly has some good graphics, motion capture and tech. Shooting looks solid to. I just don't get the hype for the story and characters though.
