I don't even know what to say. The source Japanese is already ass but sometimes these "to-the-letter" translations fail so hard to capture the spirit of the original text that it wraps all the way back around into re-capturing it in a very different way.

it's even more wtf when you realize it's japanese people translating this slop into english. they can't figure out how to find the equivalent english word or phrasing, and that's totally understandable. things aren't that easy to convert over.
