Batman Returns on SEGA Master System. I love the focus on platforming with the grappling hook, the graphics and OST which capture the feel of Tim Burton's Batman pretty decetly for 8-Bit, this felt more like a proper NES Batman sequel than Return of the Joker for me, as good as that title is, the grappling hook is just too fun for me to pick anything else over it, they nailed this.

Batman on Mega Drive is often overlooked because of the more popular NES title, but as a big fan of the film I actually enjoy it a lot more as it captures the film its adapting a lot better in my eyes.

yeah for some reason before the begins tie in no other game had even attempted to translate the swash buckling ninja aspect of batman, the posture he assumes everytime he sneaks into a warehouse of armed guards. it plays out in practically every episode of btas, batman sneaks in and either takes guys down one by one or is in a mad dash to avoid gunfire and disarm everyone in the vicinity. every other game just drops you in with a crowd of guys and has you beat them up.

It's crazy how many titles Batman and Batman Returns had, ranging from amazing to awful... you got the short end of the stick, while the NES one is great, Lynx and TG16 got some pretty mediocre titles. I'd say the only ones as good as NES Batman were Genesis Batman, Game Boy Batman and Master System/Game Gear Batman Returns.
