Why the FUCK, aren't there decomp/recomps from the JSR games yet? I feel like it'd be easier then getting JSRF to work on an Xbox emulator.

JSRF has been able to be emulated fairly well for some time now.

These games have absolutely nothing in common with THPS yet they are constantly derided for not playing like THPS. What is this form of bad faith called?

>Why isn't this cool hip-hop graffiti game that primarily appeals to people interested in 90s streetwear/raver/alternative culture being decomped?
The people behind any kind of emulation or recomp/decomp effort are extremely autistic and often have no life. I admire and enjoy their work, but its just the nature of the business. The reason Xbox emulation is so behind Sony, Sega or Nintendo consoles is because Xbox is still seen as a dudebro brand and therefore somewhat unpopular with autistic people.

I thought JSRF was more popular with nerds/autists, etc tho. I can see the Xbox being perceived as dudebro as being a barrier to entry though. Madden's not getting recomped anytime soon

I get where they're getting at. Most of the autists are going to stick with Nintendo or Sony, so they won't even know about a lot of the og xbox games that would appeal to other autists, like all the Japanese only ones

Only tendies put work into any of this stuff, trust me when I say itโ€™s easier to just learn to like Nintendo games, these dysgenic failed freaks wonโ€™t put time into anything else, they donโ€™t care about preserving games nor do they enjoy video games collectively as a hobby, they just care about obsessing over Nintendo

I liked THPS as a kid but its retarded input system and the fact you can abuse flatland/grinds to just infinitely drive your score up make it worthless, thrasher is better and feels more like skateboarding.

I can only guess that it has not been economically viable for others to do so, and if it were easy I'd probably would have done it myself. There are modern ports of the first JSR game and I know JSRF is backwards compatible on newer hardware as well, which most would find acceptable for play. I remember they have mentioned about dedicated teams at Xbox devoted to game preservation which is great news to most who care about the games, assuring their survival. Beyond printf "hello world", I'm not well versed in coding, but if you don't want to do it yourself you can fund that development as a practical alternative. I'm pretty happy about doing that with Bomb Rush Cyberfunk at one time.

Which is funny because Xbox games use the same libraries as PC ones as far as I know, so they should be a low hanging fruit for autists.

not quite, people dont avoid xbox because its "dudebro", its just that autistic people dont find xbox appealing as much as sega/nintendo
>>11818906
the problem is theres a split between people who like JSRF and xbox fans. jsrf fans are sega fans, who dont really care about xbox apart from the sega stuff on it. xbox fans are halo fans, who are mostly normies and dont even know emulation is a thing, and just remember liking the xbox as a kid. sega fans were like that as well but the difference is sega has plenty of autistic new blood fans getting inducted via sonic who really like stuff like nights and JSR while xbox has nobody
saturn autism is stronger than xbox autism at this point which tells you a lot

also part of the allure for sega in the modern day for zoomers is that its like a "lost 4th consolemaker" who made a lot of fun, unique, and interesting one-off experimental titles back in the day that oftentimes still hold up (unlike atari). xbox in comparison is seen as fairly corporate being owned by microsoft and not having any real identity or standout titles beyond halo. xbox is often considered "the console where those extra dreamcast games are trapped" and not a console with good games in its own right

You used to be able to get the original on Steam, so a PC port exists, I've got it but it's been removed from the store.
Being able to replay JSRF would be nice, it's kind of a gaming holy grail to me even though I know I wouldn't enjoy it today like 20 yrs ago.

JSRF is kinda hollow. Its world is a little too big, and it feels more like doing chores than playing a game.
If they ever made another Jet Set Radio game, I would buy it the day it came out, but that's in spite of how disappointing JSRF is compared to the first game.
Jet Grind Radio has its flaws, but the formula is solid. Taking away the joystick commands to pull off tags, and not having the pressure of the pursuing cops while pulling off those tags (combat with police is separated into its own game segments in JSRF) takes away the arcadey aspect.
JSRF is worth playing for the atmosphere. In some of the darker, more remote areas of the game, the loneliness is creepy. Not to mention whatever's going on with the Fortified Residential Zone.

Only a very small amount basically amounting to the region-specific songs, PAL/JP exclusives basically. For that there's a mod on gamebanana that restores the whole soundtrack https://gamebanana.com/sounds/67555

I never felt Future's world is so big.
JSR just feels too cramped and like an obstacle course in comparison. Future really makes it feel like you can go anywhere and skate.
The implementation of the Jet missions could've been presented better, though.
That said given how much JSR dominates any (limited) representation of the franchise, I have no doubt that a new game would lean more towards JSR's set up.
