I think the most popular one is C64, but I've heard the Atari version has tighter controls if you know what I mean.

its the version on the Amstrad CPC, the original was the exidy max-a-flex arcade version which was an atari 400/600 if i remember right,

the amstrad version is slightly superior, with a slightly better colour palette, and better sounding sound effects, the intro theme sounds the same on both versions despite having different hardware, the level layouts are the same which isnt the case for all versions, the amstrad version was done by the original devs which is probably why its so good and clearly the best.
