Just restarted playing the Genesis/Megadrive Wonderboy game on my miyoo mini+ thing, (monster land? monster lair?) I fucking LOVE it, it's like the closest thing to the late 80's Wonderboy arcade game, but better imo.
Anyway, any recomendations of similar games that I should try out?
Thanks in advance, bros.

I remember there being a sequel to this one- again for the genesis/megadrive I thiiink- where you play as a girl. Pretty sure it only released in Japan but there was a decent (i think it was decent!?) and complete (again- I think it was complete) fan translation of the game, but I never played it. Is it any good?

For other longer adventure games on the Genesis Monster World IV, Beyond Oasis, Crusader of Centy and Popful Mail (CD) are all good.

Never heard of that one, I look it up! Not looking specifically for Genesis, I'm playing on a miyoo mini+ al the moment, so, probably gens/snes but possibly arcade or maybe ps1 or... I dunno! I just got the thing. Anythinng else you think I should look at?
People get angry at me for asking questions like this when it's SO much easier to just google it, but I love getting a 'one guy' opinion, rather than a (very possibly) machine written article, or, even if not, something you can just feel has no real interest or passion put into it. Yeah, I'm really enjoying asking real people stuff instead of google. Thanks dude.

Oh, really!? I didn't know it got an official translation/release! Back in that time period, the unofficial teams quite often did a much MUCH better job due to their enthusiasm for wanting to do the fucking thing (FOR FREE!) in the first place. I wonder if this is one of those cases?
Did you play through it? Like it as much as the one before it? (that one's so well made!)
Peace!

OOOh! I just remembered Alundra on the PS1. That, as far as I remember, was fun as fuck too! I think I maybe only played a few hours of it but I seem to remember really liking it.

I guess I'm very vanilla, but classics usually are what they are for a reason. SNES Zelda blew me away, so did DKC1, (and one of the sequels, I forget which one) All the Sonic games for Gens- along with Wonderboy... There were some great smups and pinball games on Gens too! Wonderboy III on the Master System was awesome, Alex Kidd was pretty cool.

I don't really know what my question is anymore. I've suddenly got every game for every console at my fingertips and, it's a bit overwhelming. I want to get stuck into ONE game (and maybe ONE secret side-piece too)

I dunno man. This miyoo mini+ thing is very cool, but I think I'm going to gave to get a new SD card, (wanna do that anyway for better OS/shitty/cheapo SD card and sub par romset reasons) and take a good while curating a bunch of games I've actually selected for approval.

The perfect game.
