>what do you mean you don't want to beat a super-long RPG (for 2000) in 12 hours, despite it being no fun at all, because RPGs contain a shit ton of text? Don't you want the strongest weapon?
>Oh, you beat the game in 12:15? Too bad. Better luck next time gaijin haha.

They trolled an entire generation of autists. I wonder if people commited suicide because of this shit.

It was almost as bad as making topics about it on a mongolian thread weaving forum every day over 20 years later

>achievements
That would be a re-release, and the reality is that people aren't obssessed with Final Fantasy like they used to be. Now if it was still 2002 it would be a very different story. There are multiple stories of GameFAQs users who have suicided, I myself knew two of these users. This specific thing aside, yeah Gamefaqs would be the epicdenter of people who care about this sort of thing and yeah Gamefaqs has a long history. You could write a doc about what went on in those forums

I mentioned this in a thread months ago, but I know for 100% absolute fact that I got excalibur in this room behind some little pillar on the right, and there is no way I could've gotten there in the normal time. I was blown away when I learned there was a time requirement for this, I assumed it was just always there. I was like 11 at the time and half retarded and wandered around for probably 200 hours before ever getting there. I know it was Excalibur and not something else either because I also played FFTA around that time and thought "oh hey, its the same sword from the other game". Either there's a second way to get the sword or I lucked out into the sweetest glitch ever. I theorize the other way to get it might have something to do with tetra cards cuz I played the shit out of that minigame, and it makes sense since you get no reward otherwise.

False memories are very common, especially in childhood. The exaclibur that you had was Excalibur 1, which is much easier to get, retard.

It wasn't a false memory, I remember it clear as day. I always thought of that room as the excalibur room, I distinctly remember playing FFTA and thinking it was cool that the same weapon was in both games. Don't tell me what I remember, niggerbaby.

I don't know of any "cheats" for FF9 and I've never had an action replay or gameshark or whatever. You don't need to believe me but it happened.

I want to believe you, it's just very unlikely. If it happened, good for you.

IIRC it is possible for the game timer to reset to true zero if it rolls from 99:59:59 to 00:00:00 enough times, but then your save file would require at least 1000 hours. At that rate it would've been quicker to get Ex2 normally.

It's entirely possible I had 1000 hours on the profile from just leaving the console on overnight and playing normally, and just happened to luck out and get to that part of the game in the last ~10 hours I played.

>b-b-but how were we supposed to know!
You weren't, it's not trolling, it's a SECRET and the only way you would know about this without finding it yourself is by CHEATING
