This game could really use a patch to fix the game speed.
As it currently stands the PC port has its game speed entirely dependent on the frame rate, anything above 30fps causes it to run at turbo speed.

How is he being purposely dense? Roguelike is called that because of the resemblance to the game Rogue, Doom Clone is explicitly because of FPS games copying Doom, and Metroidvania comes from SotN and Super Metroid. The only bad thing about calling something souls-like is that it does not sound tongue in cheek and vtubers labeled everything and the kitchen sink as being like the souls series.

It's neat and then you get to the first boss that blows your speakers out, it lasts forever, and then the next level is in a sewer doing precise platforming over instant death water. It's fucking tedious.

At the time, most soulslikes were just Zelda clones. Nightmare Creatures was scary and had tank consoles though, so it was often labelled as survival horror.
