That's not "completely different". That's just thematically being different. They're still both 2D fighting games, both made by SNK, both anime, both based on old Japan, both featuring weapons as the character's primary playstyle.

SS is slow, and is about winning neutral above all, major damage from single hits, little to no combos, and high-stakes mind games.
LB is much faster, more mobile, and closer to a traditional KoF/SF style.
if you don't understand that this makes the games fundamentally different, you don't know enough about fighting games to have an opinion worth sharing.

My turbo casual view is that The Last Blade has a gimmick of a dedicated parry button which disarms an opponent for a moment, making attacks riskier as a result.

Completely blown away when we emulated last blade 2 back in the day that even w our shit emulator me and a buddy put a good amount of time into it. I never got good but outside of street fighter, this is THE 2d fighter for me. Like if I tried to get gud it would be this and snk vs Capcom chaos.
