>>11831039i remember it for 2 reasons.
1: the first time i played it as a kid, i wasnt allowed much screen time, so i basically only did about 1 dungeon per day, so it was literally like a week after the tutorial dungeon and i forgot that it was a function. i was very frustrated and asked my older brother (it was basically "his" game anyway, and he had beaten it long before i ever picked it up) and he said something about being able to pivot in place and we figured it out. because i was so stumped and frustrated, the solution really stuck with me. when i replayed the game some time later (maybe even shortly after with the "retry" mode), i remember doing the tutorial dungeon and going "ohhhhh, so THATS how you're supposed to know"
2: i've seen other people (usually here, and with great exaggeration like you with "literally impossible! how were you supposed to know?!") complain about the same thing, and giving them the simple answer. the game DOES tell you, but the problem is just the pacing and actual usage is a bit lacking. as long as you remember that its a function, that puzzle isnt bad. there are definitely more hidden/obscure solutions in the game, like
>>11831049 where theres a pot hidden behind one of the pillars that you'll only find through usage of a strategy guide, or recognizing "i can usually walk behind pillars, but not this one. what gives?". luckily you CAN solve it with the bat, but its tedious rng waiting.
while not every puzzle is flawless, this game as a whole kicks the absolute shit out of zelda dungeons.
