Stand back guys I GOT THIS.
I know exactly what LJN's retards were trying to do with Alien 3 on the NES, but failed completely at it. But I'm going to need 4 years and a dedicated team of badass programmers and graphics artists to achieve this vision. You'll all thank me as you get futuristic Grand Theft Auto, Watch Dogs, Cyberpunk earlier in 1994 instead of having to wait 16-24 years for it.

You get a slice of the good life at the start of the game in this beat-em-up futuristic BladeRunner city as you get all your stats, good gear, cars, relationshits unlocked. Like what latter Need For Speed and Castlevania often tries to do.
But then it all gets taken away in a freak accident, all your endgame gear NOO.
You revive. You notice all your stats are low, you can't even punch a lowly You want it back, you try to wagecuck the normal jobs, but they're not cutting it, you enroll in Weyland Yutani out of desperation, the payment is good. Your first payment is really good, you finally get a piece of the good life back , but it's only temporary cause your stats are temporary, you heard me, your stats are temporary. your car is temporary, you need money to live.
So. The jobs get more and more tiresome and risky.
Oh wagecuck for us at Weyland Yutani, be a trashman, be a marine, be a scientist, press this button up and down spamming it, suddenly you'll welcome a cheap weak version of Tetris and Bejeweled into the game, suddenly you'll say thank you if they ALLOW you to play a trashy version of Tetris and then you can get a PROMOTION to play the GOOD VERSION of Tetris.
Oh you died to a thug? no problem, there's no lives in the city, lives are free and abundant, like having 999 lives and they don't even take away from you lives.
Finally after 6 hours you save your game.

Finally the day comes and you're suppose to investigate this disturbance by the Weyland Yutani company.
You have no idea what's killing your crewmates, at first you don't give two shits, heh. heh.
The Alien grabs you and kills you. Suddenly you see your lives go from 999 to 0.
The Alien communicates directly with you almost in a narrative perspective teasing you "Heh just kidding",
The unknown force kills you over and over again, you lose 1 life each time, not giving a fuck, just being teased about it as you can't figure it out. Then suddenly you lose 10 lives then 50 lives then 100 lives, then the Alien just outright comes and uses your lives like a HP bar, no invincibility frames, no nothing. It slices at you like you're her punching rapedoll. You no longer feel being teased, you feel horror, you know you can't win cause you suck at this game, you never faced off a rapist alien before.. It eventually kills you (if you're not good enough). You're in denial, maybe all your hardwork is still kept in some form. Nope. Your save file shows 0000 points, you're right at the start, you have to make a new character. You cry like a bitch, you almost ragequit, till a man in a suit comes. He has the Weyland Yutani logo. He claps his hands and gives you some money and suddenly you're a wagecuck playing a new minigame.

A heart with the Weyland Yutani logo appears over your head. You rack up points in no time even faster, thinking you're suddenly Chad Thundercock as this minigame pays way more than the last time just literally pressing buttons.

The game often switches between 2D, 2.5D and Top-down and these minigames.

Then when you go to sleep flashing black and red colors with a death SFX play. You wake up in a cold sweat. You think nothing of it till you exit your apartment and suddenly you wake up a different person character with no money, no promotions, no nothing. You've been reset.

But in which way it gets taken from you? Remote Lovecraftian Alien hacking, that's right. You and your fucking family gets erased out of existence and the Alien gets to have your previous body and control over you. It controls your very soul because it managed to kill you once.

Seems like the Alien didn't just "kill you" it left its imprint on you, you're literally HER bitch. Everytime you go to sleep your progress resets as you try to fight your nightmares and you can't win. Each time the Alien chases you through narrow dark labyrinth vents and then captures you, puts you on the wall and turns you into a chrysalis.

The Alien acts as the grim reaper, you get to do jobs for it, fucked up versions of the same minigame in order to pay with your soul to unbind your soul from the Alien's curse and finally be free.
It communicates with you, it gives you sexual horrifying imagery of it raping you and fucking you inside a coccoon. 2D pixel art portraits with moving bits as this alien with tits rapes you and grins at you chuckling. It often just spits all over you and kisses you with its tiny mouth, disgusting.

You've had enough, through this psychic link you know where to find it.
The opportunity of a lifetime comes as you become a marine, you enroll and you find that daughter of a bitch and come to retrieve your coccoon.
Suddenly the game turns into Alien 3.

You find your past bodies in cocconed , but the alien chuckles at you and then she explains to you that you cannot physically free them because you lack the alien lovecraftian biology to do so, then she gets really pissed off and says she'll erase your entire existence, showing screens of your save file being deleted. All she has to do is wait till 24 hours passes AND you fall asleep. The alien's tail becomes a giant scythe, the head turns into a hood and she spawns an hourglass on your UI.
You shoot at it , it dies then turns to ash and ghostly then it reappears as a statue.

6/26/2025, 10:27:25 PM No.11827492
You shoot your cocoons as they also revive as aliens and turn to statues.
The statues chase you down Boo Ghosts/Weeping Angel style.

You climb out of the literal hellhole and take over in the Derelict ship, you climb on top of the calcified space jockey.
But it's too late as the statues come and your hourglass ticks. The hourglass breaks.
You fall asleep and you wake up as a dot. You walk as this dot and end up in a Minesweeper minigame which plays like shit cause you're on a controller.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IKKTW3Rv3p0&ab_channel=EPLetsPlay

Turns out you can't even be aware of your real life cause you've been revived as a microorganism, you can't think, feel, etc. there is no life for you. The grim reaper Alien really fucked you hard this time. You're not even LIFE, you're the spirit of a microorganism, the blip energy of it.

Then the dot turns into a rectangle you fall through a giant hole with platforms disintegrating below you , you're stuck in a meta hole, but a voice beckons you to dig deeper, it turns into a mini digging game, not an outright mining game this time(yet), you have to spend some time digging clawing your way even deeper then you fall and you fall hard... then you have to go LEFT , and then climb this massive statue.
It's the space jockey , but he's humongous, he miniaturizes himself in your thought (complete with the cocooned seat he's on).

He says he's part of an ancient species and that he too has been soulbonded by these parasitic lifeforms. He can get help, but only if you help him.
So the game turns into Motherlode, but in reverse. You have to dig up. The Space Jockey gives you the means to dig.
Replies: >>11835278
Anonymous
6/26/2025, 10:28:26 PM No.11827495
Once you dig up the space jockey assists you one more time and teleports outside in his giant form.
He contacts his ancient race and then reverse hacks the Alien Queen, sending biopsychic wavelengths to the xenomorph homeworld as they all turn to statues, then yellow statues then chrysalises and then shrivel and die as the original space jockey uno reverse matrix'd them.
One more detail. He uses a human body as the proxy and bait for the Alien to take ... and that human body and face resembles Hans Ruedi Giger as he basically stares back into the nightmare and rapes the aliens through his newfound God((s)).

The game gives you the option to return to your life as a human as is normal or live in an interesting alien life, that's weird and incromprehensible as hell.

Turns out this sidequest happened in an AU different dimension and now you wake up as a marine and scientist as Weyland Yutani studying Aliens which are far far dumber & primitive and wagecucking again, wagecucking basically becomes your life. The game really sets in as you basically have to wagecuck to rack up points to get a better life, forge relationship with your other scientists who talk like Egon Spengler complete in that deadpan way like Raven.
Or go with the Marines that act like Aussies and the Irish, completely redneckish. You end up doing Legend of Zelda & Simon's Quest kinda games with a main hub city world where you enjoy doing human things where you rack up more points and more gear till you become a super soldier.
The game is basically this immersive dynamic Grand Theft Auto game with space and aliens and Lovecraft with lots of metaphors.
Such interesting quest lines for the PLOT are only 1/3 in the entire game...
Anonymous
6/26/2025, 10:29:26 PM No.11827496
And now for the true ending to the game.
Game is a colossal failure as it's shittier than Simon's Quest and Alien 3 , because the programmers didn't even finish the main city that was suppose to pull you on. The game turns into something worse than Jurrasic Park as it's panned by critics and players alike as the worst game possible because all the programmers managed to do was create a few minigames like the Olympics games but even worse, instead of it being this massive interconnected Action52 game it's this weaker minigame version. Cartridge doesn't support enough space for all the content, the engine was never made, the creator ran away with the money, it's a buggy mess and the dynamic reuse of levels and content not only lagged the game out, but caused crashes.

The game basically becomes horror minigame simulator.
Creator says it was suppose to be so much more, but when Q&A's and looking at it from the correct perspective 50%-90% of the game loop would have been nothing but cheap minigame simulator.

Game later tried to be remade, but because the design is flawed it never turns into Grand Theft Auto in space, it turns into a metaphorical 2deep4you wagecuck simulator for the average man, not even the metaphorical grim reaper lovecraftian biomental hacking matrix ever happens. People say the wagecuck simulator was the creator's original intention and nobody ever attempts to make the game fun by completing the 50% of it and polishing on the creator's original intention. Game can't even do horror right and basically it's tedium is the most horrifying aspect of it as it becomes Truck Simulator for the NES.
And even the most die-hard fans says that even in its final finished product the vision would have been still been; Tease the Wagecuck - the video game. Without any actual satisfying gameloop.

And that right there ladies and gentlemen is how you make a Weyland Yutani game rather than an Alien game.

Hey I like it. If it was made on the SNES and Genesis it wouldn't have even been more than possible to create. It's possible on the NES Famicon limitations too depending how detailed the graphics are, the variety of tilesets and the amount of locations which don't repeat.

This absolutely could have been done on any cartridge that had a battery so you can save such as Legend of Zelda's and any younger NES cartridge that contained 30 games in 1 depending how graphically intensive the game was for the Famicon.
The question however like you pointed out in the last post is ... would it actually be fun to play?
The description implies there's this beat-em-up futuristic BladeRunner city that's supposedly fun to play, but in order to play it effectively with a high stats character you ironically do not play this game to lvl up, but instead you have to do mini-games in a sort of menial job way to gain money to gain stats and somewhere along the lines you said it's a subscription rather than a permanent item or permanent level up. So I assume you do level up your stats through the minigames, but in order to use them you have to maintain them like a subscription? Again implying you wrote this and you didn't just copy-paste it.

Hijacking this thread because I have to tell someone who might actually care

I just won an auction for an original Aliens arcade board. This is a game that's very dear to me, despite how jank it is. I play it a lot on MAME.

But this is my first arcade board, and I don't have a JAMMA-compatible cab to put it in. I do have a vewlix on the way, but I'll still need to finagle some solution with a supergun or whatever to get it working on a non-CRT (I'm not buying a CRT cab, those are more trouble than they're worth)

But yeah. I'm excited. Maybe I'll design some panel art for it. Thank you for reading my blog.

I haven't played the other versions of Alien3, but the Megadrive version is pretty cool and playable. The game has almost a survival horror dynamic, taking into account the limitations; the Xenomorphs are always lurking to take you down. You have to save all the prisoners and manage the ammunition in your weapons and find the exit in time. The game requires memorization but the gameplay is very precise and rewarding. The sound effects and music are good and reinforce the atmosphere, and you can improve them a little with a mod.

https://romhackplaza.org/romhacks/alien-3-usa-europe-enhanced-colors-sfx-genesis/
https://romhackplaza.org/romhacks/alien-3-camera-tweak-genesis/

These romhacks help to improve the game. I just wish there was a way to increase the time limit, not make it infinite, but increase it by an extra minute or two, to help you find the exit.

It's hilarious how 99% of gamedevs couldn't think how to develop Alien 3 into a good game without guns ... well that and Fox allowing every retard from LJN to make a game about their IP.
Fox lucked out when their auction was bought by Konami & Capcom for 2 arcade games that didn't suck complete ass, but then again they were both typical arcade games with nothing unique to them. Goddamn Little Nemo got a beat-em-up shooter arcade game. As opposed to the NES where it actually has that unique mechanic of feeding animals and transforming into them or using them as mounts.

Because I'm not a CRT purist
It's not like I haven't played the game on a real hardware CRT setup before, I just think CRTs in general are more trouble than they're worth unless you own a big house with lots of space. I wanted a modern cab specifically because they're easier to move around and maintain.

Honestly there never was an "original" Aliens cab. Konami only sold the game as an upgrade kit, any Aliens cab you've seen in the wild was a repurposed one.

An exploration-based game does sound good as does a Pokemon-like game where you capture xenomorphs. Question of course is ... is it fun to play or it's just a watered down version? Hire crappy studios get crappy games no matter how good the ideas are, I guess.
Most fun Alien games were the shooter AVP series while the more text-based strategic puzzle games were forgotten to time.

Indeed, the one that uses it the least is the Game Boy version, but it still has them... I at least like how you can get a Game Over if you use up all your ammo before killing all of the aliens, you get a unique Game Over screen saying that you've ran out and it means you can't stop the aliens anymore, it feels bleak and hopeless, and it caught me by surprise, so at least it forces you to use your ammo only when needed, instead of shooting like crazy, or else you'll be hopeless to defeat them... it adds to its horror nicely.
