I never really bothered much with the arena, or if I did I'd only do it 1 or 2 fights at a time, usually around that time in Egypt because that's the only point when you really need money for gear. Same in 4, the Poker is by far the fastest and easiest way to win chips.

In the GB version you can cheat at the arena by save stating and winning up to 20,000 tokens at a time. I can't remember why, but in my memory the GB version in particular was much more exploitable than the SNES version, which I don't think allowed you to do double or nothing
