I used to load these games just to groove to the music. Simpler times.
Actually I quite liked the first game, beat it several times. While still janky and hard, it was better on the ST than modern shrieking youtubers give it credit. It had the heart, but not the talent.
The second game.. that one is just ridiculously balls stupid hard. I usually loathe people on this board who use this word, but it's close to unplayable (even though I still tried a lot, and had some amount of fun in doing so). It tried one of the most baffling ideas I've ever seen in an action game before. I admire that they gave thinking outside the box, but good lord. See this screen? Think you're looking at a single-axis horizontal scrolling action game? Well, you're wrong. Actually, the game scrolls in two full axes, north-south and east-west. Pressing up or down on the joystick swaps axis, so the character might be moving east-west here but suddenly everything will "rotate" in place and he's moving linearly north-south along a single bologna-thin slice of terrain from the otherwise 2D overhead map. And you can't see anything on the "slices" just in front or behind you. Enemies magically appear directly on top of you because they're running into you perpendicularly from the other axis. It's insane (god bless 'em for trying though).
