To this day I am surprised that as a kid I managed to finish both games.

Sadly tho, tried to emulate it recently and the drawing distance is horrible, its like 5 meters ingame distance, back then it was acceptable but now really fucks up the enjoyment.

in Duckstation? It definitely is ugly at times wrt draw distance but it's still fun. Great car game.

The one where you chase a truck is the worst

I always played this game as a kid. My dad and his buddy would always be stoned (didn't find out til I was older), and we got really really into this game. We would all take turns and played the shit out of it for a couple weeks. I still remember the day we beat it. I actually beat the last level too

Before GTA3 came out, my friend and I used to spend hours driving around and exploring the maps in Driver 2. Our favorite thing to do was to start some chase, and then run the cops around the city until felony was maxed out, then try and lose the cops long enough to switch to another car and keep going. I remember we would always try to lose them right as we got to some sort of ramp or overpass or anywhere else you could get air, since you could leave the vehicle immediately while airborne if the police weren't currently on you. This was important since the police could spot you while you were slowing down to leave the vehicle, and you would be back trying to lose them again.

I'll never forgive them.

Never.
