Which era of /vr/ cartoons do you prefer?

For general production values, the non-/vr/ anime stuff.

The quality of shows under both categories really runs the gamut. I didn’t like 4Kids slop outside of Pokemon even back then but I think the Double Dragon show is easily the worst one here that shit was awful.

The Pokemon anime is more enjoyable than anything on the left, but otherwise I like the left better. None were amazing except Sonic, but I have nostalgia for them.

It feels more like a second rate TMNT than a Double Dragon show. It does that annoying thing where despite it's a show about FIGHTING the characters have to lecture you about how fighting is bad

Better than it has any right to be. Funny and incorporates the game elements well. The dub is very of it's era and kind of rough but has it's charm. No wonder it lasted over 1000 episodes.

That Double Dragon cartoon was so weird to me when you compare it to the og games especially the first one. It seemed like the Double Dragon franchise could never settle on a consistent aesthetic.

Yeah the original games have this sorta gritty 80s urban decay setting with elements of 70s kung fu movies. The cartoons are just...C-tier superhero slop. It's pretty funny that the original game villains are chased out after the pilot to make room for new toyetic ones.

I mean the only thing that makes MK different from anything else is blood and gore, but if you noticed the games actual story there isn't a big body count.....no more than an average action cartoon in the 90s. It has a clear team of good guys trying to save the world from bad guys, pretty standard stuff

Much more than Street Fighter where most characters are neutral, and not part of any bigger plot, so making them a hero team feels forced
