I miss the xbox hueg, so I'm going back. The games are fairly cheap, but the problem is finding a console for a decent price. CEX Australia has them for $220 (tested/refurbished), Cashies has them for $150-200 (untested pawn shop fodder). I'll buy games for now and buy an xbox when I find a better deal.

I recently replayed Gunvalkyrie and Mechassault, and thank fuck because the price for a copy of Gunvalkyrie is going up constantly.

Let's have an xbox hueg thread

CeX is good for software but please NEVER buy hardware from them. Their hardware is NOT properly tested let alone cleaned. Xboxes are $20 all the time on FB marketplace in Brisbane, PLEASE save yourself $200.

Bruh, I don't even have facebook. You seem like you know what you're talking about though, I'm in Brisbane too. Can you drop a temp email or a steam name so we can communicate? I was thinking of making a gumtree listing where I'd trade a PS4 + some games for an xbox.

I'm completely out of touch because in the ps3 era I started being PC only, I only have a PS4 because I really like Bloodborne. Fuck

As someone who has had absolute nothing to do with original xbox since playing with me mates on Halo back in the day, fark. You sparked my interest.

Emulation looks pretty impossible. Xbox consoles cost an arm and a leg. Backwards compatibility looks limited (also not retro).

I don't have fagbook either but seems like the way to go aye. Keep us posted in this thread I'm pretty interested now in the hueg beast.

don't trick him, xemu is simply okay but a lot of games have sound issues. it's not as simple as ps2 or gc emu. there's extra steps, and even then games like UC2 stillhave texture and accelaration problems.

i would kill someone for a proper PC port of Unreal Championship 2 or Whacked. it's a difficult console to crack and a lot of games are going to be left behind.

I think you'll be shocked at the niche Japanese games that are xbox exclusives, you may have fallen victim to the retards claiming xbox was a ''dudebro fps machine''. unfortunately, it's too lste for you. it's difficult to emulate and modern xbox backwards compatibility is trash.

you missed out on one of the best consoles of all time.

If you get a console from CEX then you should also buy an IDE HDD from them as well (they still sell them on their website) so then you can upgrade the internal storage and load all games from it after you've softmodded the console. I have a 80GB IDE HDD in mine and it fits 24 games with all their updates and DLC. I think it's better to use IDE HDDs since then you don't need to buy adapters or any shit like that, plus the Xbox can't take advantage of SSD speeds anyway.

Xbox's were super cheap in Australia for a long time, I found one for free on someones lawn. I've seen the clear green one for near $200. About half the games run on xbox 360 or xbox one.

Thatโ€™s rough. U can usually pick up an Xbox here in the states at a goodwill for 40 bucks still. Iโ€™ve gotten a couple over the last year so I can practice tearing out the clock and soft modding them.

I am so happy right now. Halo is running great right out of the box with default settings. I forgot how good the surround sound is, at least the emulation is good for this.

That....does not justify bringing it up to $150...at all. Hacking costs $7 if even with a USB adaptor from Amazon. An IDE to SATA adaptor costs like $6 on Amazon. And when Xboxes can be bought for $20 on FB marketplace, you are effectively spending $117 for someone else's 1TB HDD, which is extremely retarded to say the least.

How can IDE HDD be "extremely slow" when that's what the Xbox were designed to use? Do you have proof that using a SATA HDD or even an SSD actually makes any difference in regard to loading times, etc? It shouldn't since it's still IDE speed at the receiving end. And like I said; 80GB (10x the stock capacity) will easily fit two-dozen games on the HDD. That's plenty.

Transfer speeds are the main benefits SATA
WWhenyou take off and put new games on through FTP
But I mean, if you're happy using IDE for some reason, go for it

PDO lags.

Where in the world are you looking? You can still get an Xbox that's in decent condition for a reasonable price, you just gotta avoid those "I know what I have"- type nimrods that try to sell them for triple digit prices.
