Turok 3 is the only genuinely good game in the series. Turok 1 is fun, but repetitive. Turok 2 is a boring slog. Rage Wars is a dated console arena shooter. Evolution is crummy and dull. The 2008 reboot is painfully generic. The new game seems even more generic.

Evolution is super fun. The Swarm Bore is the most terrifying and sadistic weapon in videogame history.

I tried playing the first one recently, and it's fucking aids. I always assumed it was a linear shooter from the way people talk about it, but it's a fucking dogshit key hunt. Gross.

Danielle. But the game does benefit from multiple playthroughs. It's not very long, and each character gets their own equipment and alternate routes. The remaster, which is significantly improved in a lot of areas, add some bonus playable characters like the raptor.

I had a good time with Evolution. In fact I've beaten it twice. The Star Fox sections were a nice variety

Really? I played all 3 and I thought 1 was the only good one. 2 has shitty levels and the weapons just aren't as fun. 3 is just fucking awful, just complete mediocre unfun slop with zero passion behind it.

Turok 3 was originally being designed as a co-op game, but this was scrapped in probably late 1999. The game's development was extremely troubled. The remaster did a good job cleaning it up, but they didn't have the budget to do some things they wanted to do, like expanding levels with new objectives and sections.

Lol that's me. I marathoned T1 in a massive single sitting. Started up 2 the next day and spent 3 days grinding it out and still got fed up by the time I reached some Star Trek TNG looking stage. They're so big and tedious to go through.
Although partially it's starting to grow on me. I may get back to it soon.

I'm convinced the opening cyberpunk city with the police walkers and stuff was an influence on Half-Life 2.

Disagree, turok 3 is by far the weakest of the n64 turok ggames.1 is kino. 2 has shit framerate and some terrible level design but still fun. Rage wars is a blast to play with friends. 3 ditched all the fun parts of turkey and replaces it with a buggy mess and unresponsive gunplay.

It’s mostly both: It’s a largely linear shooter with keys that can sometimes be easy to miss meaning you’ll have to restart the level.
