Has anyone here ever fixed a tilted image in a crt before?
I have heard its a simple process but can be really dangerous if you dont know what you are doing.
Hearing how dangerous it can be has kinda made me scared to even attempt it, im half considering seeing if i can craig's list an ad for fixing this.
Any experiences doing this before, anons?

The big issue is that the skew is showing underscan
I cant post my specific set atm but there is black void visible in the bottom right.

I could alter the settings to overscan and fill it out, but the angle its skewed means too much of my image will be cut off

You can correct this via software with RetroArch shaders.

Just deal with it for fuck's sake. No one had all this autistic bullshit back when those TVs were common. If the image was a little fucked up in one way or another, that's just how it was.

Nobody has ever died or had a serious injury from working on a CRT, (unless it fell on them) the idiots who talk about how deadly they are don't know anything. With that said....getting shocked isn't fun so just follow the extremely simple guides on how to discharge it and then fix the stupid thing and move on with your life. Don't pay people to fix your stuff you should learn how to repair things.

Technically, yes. The thing runs on high voltage. 16k-22k or there about volts.
The tube itself is a vacuum tube. So is technically at risk of implosion if you're not careful.

I had to adjust this on my 'new' 9'' Trinitron recently. I manually repositioned the deflection yoke, the wire coil seen in the middle of this pic. Below that you see a rubber wedge that helps hold it still in the correct position.

The deflection yoke used to pop off of arcade CRTs when moved frequently. If they aren't glued to the tube you can typically unscrew the clamp and rotate it slightly but you can die if you touch the wrong thing since it needs to be on when you do the alignment. Not exactly for rookies

Don't fucking open your tv, you're going to kill yourself. Look up how to access the service menu and try to adjust from there, otherwise >>11845294
