Has anyone managed to burn a copy of any PS1 Dance Dance Revolution?
Everytime I make one it gets stuck on the now loading screen, I read that it's a special kind of anti-piracy measure and that you can bypass it by burning it with Alcohol 120% using the Safedisc 1 profile but I had no sucess, tried with Konamix and 5th Mix.

I made a copy, and yes, it would get stuck on the now loading screen. To make it work, I had to use a gameshark cd with a code and do a magic swap every time I want to play. it has nothing to do with the way i burned the cd

Haven't been in the game for a while, but I used to used to only use Sony discs, and Mitsui for CDs I wanted to last. I don't think the Mitsui discs are made in Japan anymore, if they're even made at all. Sad days bros.

Obviously imgburn.

What gameshark disc did you use? and what DDR game?

I have heard even the well regarded brands like verbatim are now producing a lot of duds, my experience so far with PS1 discs has been mixed (lots of audio/fmv skipping and sometimes even a freeze mid-game) but my usb optical drive can only burn at 10x so I blame it more on that, though sometimes the skipping happens way less the more I use the discs.
For PS2 DVDs I haven't found much differences with brands (tried cheap and verbatim ones), I have a Matrix Infinity 1.93 PS2 and my sucess with it reading my games is around 80%, I heard AZO Verbatim is the best but I haven't tried it yet.

You could get an external 5.25" drive bay and get a used DVD drive that lets you slow down the burn speed. High speed discs put a lot of stress on the laser. Killed my PS One (the slim) that way. Though PSX/PS2 lasers were cheap and plentiful on Aliexpress last I checked so I guess it doesn't matter.
