How were you legitimately supposed to level up in this game? I always had to go full murder hobo and kill random townspeople in their houses otherwise I'd get my ass handed to me in normal fights.
You don't level up grinding like you would in any other game, but rather by following the questline (assembling the team, getting the rings, etc.)
To be fair, you're better off abusing the quest completion glitch on that one catacomb ring in the desert to get free XP, the game doesn't play fair so neither should you.
Also get free money by selling Gems from the Sorcerer's Town to the Merchants one (not a long trip by boat though you could also use the second player teleport cheatcode to save you from the tedium)

>>11841101 (OP)I finally got the hang of this game and made some decent progress just to get distracted and stop playing. I'll pick it up again one day.
>>11843003I feel like that's what always happens to me. One day I'll beat it.
Very memorable and interesting game. I enjoyed it a lot because of the characters, the story and the zany atmosphere of the world.
Despite being eccentric and not taking itself too seriously I feel like it managed to capture the medieval fantasy feel better than 90% of games in the genre. I suppose the general difficulty of the game and the fact that you never know when you'll get ambushed (again) by very powerful monsters or bandits when wandering the world, going from town to town and searching for treasures in dungeons gives a strong feeling of adventure.
>>11843910How very AI of you.
Anyway does anyone have thoughts on that quest where you can kill the npc to skip a shitload of steps? Is that cheating or no?
