I just had a blast this week playing both The Lost Vikings for the SNES.
Such a funny, colorful and simple game. Are there any games like these?
I can't find any games with the same concept, most of them are just action platform.
I just wish people made games like these back then, even nowadays.

Kinda counts, I'd say. It's not all that great, but it is indeed a platformer that focuses on puzzles.

Aah real monsters had a similar gimmick with the 3 characters that have different abilities. I don't recall if you could move them independently like in Lost Vikings though.
Also I'd recommend playing the Genesis version of Lost Vikings for the extra stages.

Gonna give both a try, the puzzle-platform games don't existe at all. I've searched everywhere, mostly are lemmings, some weird puzzle games.

I love Lost Vikings, sadly there's not a lot of similar games around, at least /vr/-pertinent. You may want to try The Humans (originally for the Amiga but there's plenty of console ports), kind of a missing link between Lemmings and TLV.

If we go by multiple character switching mechanics in general, there's the Genesis Animaniacs game, similar to this one >>11841412. Both are more action oriented than TLV and the characters you aren't controlling move independently in both iirc.

Probably the only decent western-developed pre-5th generation Simpsons game; and it barely counts because it was just a re-skinned version of some obscure Amiga game.

It's weirdly appropriate because slapping his brand onto some random cheap product is exactly what Krusty would do.

Aren't the 4 Trine games pretty much just Lost Vikings?

There is a fun puzzle platformer for the GBC based on the anime Mitsubachi Maaya no Bouken.

There are rumors it was originally a South Park game before they reworked it.

none of those have the multi-character thing but they're puzzle-platformers nonetheless. I could name an absolute ton that are non-retro, but alas. seems like indie devs are well suited to making these kind of games

Pocahontas. It's better than it looks, but it's not great.

There's the Rocko game, Spunky's Dangerous Day, for SNES too, not great but kinda neat.
