Do you think retro Nintendo had a certain appeal that has been lost in recent years?

I'll start, when Nintendo launched the N64 it came with Super Mario 64. It was a huge leap forward for gaming at the time. I do not think I've felt such a leap ever since.

It didn't come with Super Mario 64, it came with a single controller, a power supply, paperwork including a manual, health advisory sheet and an advertisement, and a Nintendo 64 Composite-Stereo AV cable.

Twilight princess was the last good Nintendo game, although I think nintendos peak was 96-2001. Ever since Wii they've catered to casuals, Mario spinoff games outselling everything else was the nail in the coffin.

It was the magic of childhood not Nintendo's. But modern Nintendo is still good

Personally I find the lack of a BIOS worse than not coming with a game. Nintendo could have done an epic follow up to this.

No. Nintendo was just one of 2-3 choices.
First party Nintendo games weren't even the best on their own consoles.

Given the context you're wrong. When N64 launched, Super Mario 64 also launched, when the N64 launched it launched with Super Mario 64. Is English your second language?

The only thing that made the Nintendo of old less baby friendly is that their games were harder.

for me the peak was the snes era. mario 64 was one of the greatest games ever but the n64 as a whole didnt feel the same as the snes. however i was also 11 when the 64 came out and was starting to become an adolescent edgelord so that probably had a lot to do with it. i dont think ive bought a nintendo product since the gba sp/gamecube. still love the old stuff though

There should be a rule in the sticky suggesting to use ai tools if English isnโ€™t your first language. I doubt itโ€™d make much difference since most esl anons here just spit out random incoherent gibberish with zero structure or natural flow.

The original post never said "launched", it specified that the N64 CAME WITH Mario 64.
In the context of goods and services, something coming with something else has an understood meaning, which is that it's included. You can say that the N64 launched with SM64 and you'd be correct because they were both available for purchase at the same time. But you can't say that it came with SM64, because one was never included with the other and needed to be purchased separately.
So in this context, none of what you've said is correct.
>an launch

Yeah. It lost it after SSBM and never got it back. Every game, no matter how good it is in many ways, has had a major flaw that prevents it from being great.

This was actually the first N64 game I ever played. Coming from Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo and PC games like Doom I thought the N64 was terrible. We later got one for Christmas with Mario 64 and Mario Kart.
