What's the best way to unload a fuckton of games that are worth less than $10 each? I have an insane amount of near worthless crap games and is like to recover some money.

This. Don't bother selling them individually. You'll get absolutely annihilated by the cost of shipping.

Do you want to maximize revenue? What's your time worth? As noted, lot(s) are your best route. But the bigger the lot, the less you make per game. Trade off is you spend less time getting the games out, you get your money faster, and can move on with your life.

One thing to not do on eBay (I assume eBay is one of your venue considerations,) is auction sales. You start your item for a buck, it'll sell for a buck.

There's selling locally, which would eliminate the need to ship or pay fees to the selling platform. But if your Craigslist/Facebook experience is like mine, you get a lot of people wasting your time asking "is this available?" only to never be heard from again, or they insist on giving themself a 50% discount.

And if it does work out, you have to coordinate a time and place to meet (versus just dropping off at the local post office.) You might also spend gas & time driving to buttfuck nowhere. So you should make it a worthwhile sale (big lot, valuable item, or require a minimum purchase amount.) Also, if you don't want to get murdered, meet at a Starbucks or other popular, public spot.

you make the buyer pay for shipping. You will make a lot less selling as a lot than individually on ebay. The ebay fees will fuck you over more than anything because the 13.5% is calculated after shipping and taxes. So you'll pay 13.5% on $15 to $16 dollars total for a $10 game. Which works out to around a 20% fee in reality.

I exaggerate a little, but it's not wrong. Auctions consistently get less than Buy It Now listings. You only do the auction route if you have something genuinely unique/desirable and don't know where to price it. OP doesn't have a shrink wrapped Stadium Events, he has a ton of commons. He tries to run individual cart auctions starting at a buck each to attract attention. I guarantee many will be selling for a buck or two.

>>11848324
Fees are taken out of your sale, not added.
Selling everything individually will fuck OP over in overhead. Yes, his gross revenue will be higher, but he'll spend less time on listing and later shipping.
Between selling 10 individual commons, or one lot of 10 games for 80% as much. I take the latter. That's 1 box to pack & ship. And unless he's already a high volume seller, he's not going to sell 10 games in one day. He'll sell a couple per week, spread out over the week. That's an hour every other evening to ship out a handful of packages each session. Selling anything sub-$10 is only worthwhile if you're a full time seller moving a dozen+ items a day since it'll just be an extra minute in your overall packing session.

Please don't reply to me with incorrect and retarded advice. Shipping a fews packages doesn't take anywhere near an hour. It takes literally minutes and you can drop it off on your commute to work. You sound like you've never sold anything on ebay and are making stupid shit up. Selling games is one of the easiest things on ebay.

NTA but after doing some calculations recently to try and figure out why my fee % was fluctuating between sales, I came to the same conclusion that they must be including tax paid by the buyer in their final price for fee claculation. I don't usually charge the buyer for shipping so don't know if that gets included, but shipping paid by me certainly doesn't get subtracted from that calculation. I'm sure it's in the fine print but it might be unexpected to some people since they take that tax money out automatically

>>11849646
You can view the fee breakdown for every transaction. The only time my fee's have differed is because of thirdies paying with foreign credit cards. They hit you with a small fee for those transactions. Otherwise, 13.5% + this fixed rate.

1. Check your eBay account for what sold.
2. Pull the item(s) from storage
3. Pull out your shipping supplies (if you don't have a dedicated shipping station.)
4. Pack the item(s). Hopefully well. I don't just drop a bare NES cart into a manila envelope like you do.
5. Run labels
6. Stop by post office, if your work place doesn't have a mail drop, or you can't intercept the mail carrier.

Sorry if I'm not calculating the time overhead time down to the minute. All the above has to be done for each set of items you sell; and it doesn't even include listing work. If you're a full time/high volume seller, it just gets worked into your daily routine. If you're a casual seller, that's time you have set aside every time you sell stuff.

This. I'd maybe pay up to a few hundred to someone with a hoard like that of 2/3rds shovelware just to make the repros of a few games I'm missing, and to make some for other people from time-to-time. Maybe I wouldn't want a hoard that big, but if you fix the rom headers, have an eeprom writer and some basic soldering skills, it'd be worth it.
