For me, it's people saying that the Hub in SA1 was magical and really sold the sense of Adventure as you actually explored around and hiked from level to level, and then you play it and the hubs basically have nothing in them, and plot progression from thing to thing is often extremely random. Shit just appearing randomly when you needed, or suddenly exploding out of your way, with absolutely zero connection to what was just happening in the cutscenes and missions.
What's funnier is when they follow up with

and it's like, bitch, I get more of that just looking at the fukken skyboxes. The hubs are just SHIT.
