you couldn't see many lines of code at a time on a word processor of the time, this is a good idea. i'm not a true oldfag but I know there are ways to transfer code through some analog source like a cassette or punch cards as well, so I wonder how LB got the code compiled in the end.

Applesoft BASIC (what he used) is pretty easy to actually use. Word processors obviously existed for the machine so there were ways to parse text.

Presuming this pic was taken in the early 80s. Once Origin got established they could have just printed the code out.

IIRC at the time floppies were pretty rare and people were generally using tape. Akalabeth did originally have a tape release, and then it was re released on floppy.
