I don't see that, all he's doing is running and jumping, no bugs.

The only thing is it's not something you would reasonably do perfectly on a first playthrough, since the jumps over lava are kinda blind. But once you know the level it's a normal way to play.

Are you seriously telling me you’ve never hot dogged in a video game? The developers totally expected you to play like that. It’s specifically designed so you can play like that. Sonic 1 is a pretty tough game compared to the other ones so it makes sense that after playing marble zone 100 times when you were 9 years old, you would start to get good at it.
