I will never understand why this and it's sequel are trapped on Gamecube/PS2 but Okami gets ported to everything under the sun.

capcom only ports PS3 games. Okami's case it had an HD release.
Real reason though, most companies don't really respect 2D games, even if they are 2.5D

Capcom is pretty good about respecting its back catalog - it's probably just them not being able to for some reason, probably lost the original assets as usual.

Are people afraid to emulate now of days or something? All these calls for HD remasters is a bit odd when they are easily accessible and most play on today's versions of toasters.

I mean, thats literally emulation.
Download emulator, download rom or iso, find file or just drag it, play.

At worst you have to import some bios in which case you can find a 3 minute youtube video to explain how to do it. Its really weird to see so many young people avoid emulation so much and want remasters.

Like I said, either Nintendo and Snoy have actually been successful at swaying zoomers mentality against their own interests (very possible considering Switch 2 sales) or its some weird shills. I'd say the second option is less likely but you never know considering Capcom swore up and down we were beneath them until both Ninja Theory and Capcom shills were caught trolling around regular /v/. Hell, even moonman himself did a q and a with 8__chan way back when for Nier. Still, /vr/ is pretty niche so I doubt it.

>emulation's soulfulness depends on whether or not you dumped the ROMs yourself
Hardware purists are absolutely diseased. I don't blame anybody who buys some old Nintendo and a couple of games to relieve the past, just like I don't blame anybody who downloads an emulator and a ROM to do so. The games matter, the fucking GAMES, man. This kind of shit is deranged. I'd be willing to bet you've even played a console game at some point (like some Midway Arcade Treasures or Mega Man collection bullshit) where the games were being emulated and you didn't even know it. Are those games "soul" too, even though they're being run through emulation? I'm not even going to address how mentally retarded likening getting free shit to "digital cuckoldry" is. Log off man.

>When are they going to make a remaster so I can finally play this game??!!!

Is there any more cancerous opinion in all of this hobby?

First of all, it shows that the person doesn't really like old games since he only plays modern versions of them.
Secondly it shows the lazyness and entitlement for not seeking a way to play the game, which are already available. Again, another modern flaw.
Thirdly all remasters are trash and make the game worse so it's literally asking "please take a shit on this game!".

So no, I can't think of a more cancerous opinion. It doesn't just bring other people to the lowest of levels but the games too for those that didn't ask for anything and don't know better.

I think the only thing they'd have to tweak in a potential Joe remaster is how some of the stage hazards and bosses would play out in 16:9. There are more than a few instances where bosses or hazards go off-screen and part of the challenge is having to predict that. Like the barrels in stage two or any of the helicopter fights. This is the sort of minute details which would probably be lost on a random Hong Kong porting studio, but its better than letting Joe languish on 6th gen consoles forever.

Joe whistling the Mario theme song while bouncing V-Bombs would have to be altered too. Pretty unbelievable that made it into the PS2 version without any lawyers noticing.

>>11850314
Despite being a completely 2D game, even the controller prompts on the GC game exclusively depict the analogue stick. They knew no one wanted to play with that little GBA nub.

The only issue with Joe on Dolphin is the frame pacing still isn't entirely perfect. I've fiddled with a million different settings and tried the latest builds but as of last week its still somewhat framey looking. Not the end of the world, but still another reason why a real port would be good.
